Toronto-based Lively Media announced the onset of production for two new projects on both sides of the border.

The company – owned and operated by President and Executive Producer Leanna Crouch – has been commissioned to produce run run revolution, a 2 x 60 documentary series for CBC’s Factual Entertainment Unit, and The Accused (working title) a 1 x 60 pilot for Investigation Discovery (ID) US and Canada.

A multiple award-winner and one of the most eclectic bright lights in television, Crouch has worked the medium from its most rarified programming as producer of TVO’s Imprint to its most broad-based – U.S. game shows, children’s shows, and Entertainment Now, the original incarnation of CTV’s flagship “showbiz magazine” series eTalk.

run run revolution™, a 2 x 60 television series for CBC Television began shooting on January 17th. Part of CBC’s Live Right Now initiative which rolled out this January, the two-part series documents the rehabilitation of 10 unfit but feisty Grade Seven and Eight students from Ottawa as they train to participate in the Youth Section of the Boston Marathon. Lively will deliver in late spring. Nadine Schwartz is directing. Jennifer Dettman is the executive in charge of production at CBC.

The Accused (working title) – Production will soon commence on a 1 x 60 special/pilot for Discovery (ID) US and Canada. The series shows the personal toll and story behind two wrongful conviction cases in each hour.

“These two shows reflect not only variety of subject matter, but also the caliber of programming we’re determined to produce at Lively,” says EP Leanna Crouch. “All these projects are provocative, engaging and intense. They’re dream projects to produce, with the highest expectations imposed upon them from square one. I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
