On the third Monday of January every year, Americans honour civil rights hero Martin Luther King, Jr. As the world joins the United States in coming together to celebrate King, the NBA continues its tradition of honouring MLK Day with tributes and marquee matchups. Â
As the NBA continues to use its platform to fight for social justice, the games serve as a reminder of how far society has come, but also what work there is to be done.
TSN delivers a quadruple-header of must-see NBA games throughout the day on Monday, Jan. 18, highlighted by:
- Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Atlanta Hawks at 2:30 p.m. ET – D’Angelo Russell and the Timberwolves take on one of the most prolific scorers in the league in Trae Young and his Hawks.
- Phoenix Suns vs. Memphis Grizzlies at 5 p.m. ET – Suns stars Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, and Chris Paul hit the court against the Memphis Grizzlies, who boast a roster filled with players known to the North in Canadians Dillon Brooks and Brandon Clarke, as well as former Raptors big man Jonas Valanciunas.
- Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors at 7:30 p.m. ET – Luka Doncic and the recently-recovered Kristaps Porzingis head to Raptors headquarters in Tampa Bay as Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet look to pick up the win.
- Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors at 10 p.m. ET – In this California battle, reigning Finals MVP LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the NBA champion Lakers head north to the Oracle Arena in Oakland to face the red-hot Steph Curry and the Warriors.
