In Megas XLR, a suburban slacker named Coop discovers an enormous futuristic battle robot in a local New Jersey garbage dump. Coop retools the robot as one might customize a hot rod and inadvertently attracts the attention of the Glorft, a race of evil reptilian aliens from the future who has turned their sights on conquering Earth. Meanwhile, the battle robot’s original pilot, Kiva, tracks the robot through time and arrives on earth to claim the weapon she needs to save earth. However, due to Coop’s "modifications," Kiva can no longer fly the robot. Now, she must team up with the reluctant Coop and his best friend, Jamie, to save the future from the alien onslaught.

Although The Brak SHOW takes place somewhere in outer space, its setting looks an awful lot like any American suburb circa 1965. While attending Learnmore High School, Brak and his best pal, Zorak, get into all sorts of trouble, like stealing the mascot of Learnmore’s rival, overfeeding a neighbour’s fish and stealing a magic candy bar. Brak’s Dad, a small human who loves to give nonsensical advice, and Mom, a perfectly coiffed domestic goddess, provide a pretty stable home life for Brak. In the end, everything turns out just fine–and there’s usually time for a song or two.
