Astral’s Family Channel makes a splash over going back to school with the fish of Freshwater High in the new animated series Fish Hooks. Following the September 3rd sneak-peek of the show, Family welcomes the Disney Channel Original Series to the fall schedule as it premieres Saturday, September 25 at 8 a.m. ET/PT.
Fish Hooks, an inventive animated comedy series set inside a giant fish tank in the centre of a pet store, brings an interesting twist to the high school sitcom. Together three teenage fish, Milo, Bea and Oscar experience typical teen challenges and triumphs, including friendship, dating and sports, along with more atypical school situations such as giant lobster attacks and school field trips to the hamster cage.
Fish Hooks features the voices of Chelsea Staub (JONAS L.A.) as Bea, Kyle Massey (Cory in the House) as Milo and Justin Roiland (The Sarah Silverman Show) as Oscar. The series was created by children’s book illustrator Noah Z. Jones and is executive produced by Jones and Adam Burton (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy). Carl Greenblatt (Chowder) and Bill Reiss (Chowder) will direct.
In the premiere episode, on Saturday, September 25 at 8 a.m. ET/PT, it’s picture day at Freshwater High and all of the kids are excited to get their photos taken. Bea takes a bad photo that could ruin her life but yearbook chief Clamantha won’t give it back to her. In the second part of the episode, Milo ignores Bea and Oscar when they tell him he’s selfish and propels himself outside of the tank. Now, the three of them are stranded in the pet store and must avoid the attentions of the store cat, Wilford.
