CTV Specialty Channels lands another record-breaking launch as final Numeris data confirms that the CTV Sci-Fi Channel premiere of STAR TREK: PICARD is the #1 series debut on conventional or entertainment specialty television this broadcast year to date and becomes the most-watched Canadian entertainment specialty broadcast of all time.
After setting live + same day records out of the gate, STAR TREK: PICARD’s confirmed audience grew to 1,851,500 viewers including 7 days of playback viewing, topping the former title-holder, THE ROAST OF CHARLIE SHEEN, in 2011 on CTV Comedy Channel (formerly The Comedy Network).
In total, 3 million viewers watched some or all of the first episode, “Remembrance,” including repeat airings.
The critical and ratings hit also set new records on Bell Media’s Crave with “Remembrance” becoming the most-streamed debut of a new series in its first week in Crave history.
In an all-new episode, “The End Is the Beginning,” airing Thursday, Feb. 6 at 9 p.m. ET, Soji (Isa Briones), completely unaware of her special nature, continues her work and captures the attention of the Borg cube research project’s executive director. After rehashing past events with a reluctant Raffi (Michelle Hurd), Picard seeks others willing to join his search for Bruce Maddox, including pilot and former Starfleet officer Cristóbal Rios (Santiago Cabrera). “The End Is the Beginning” is written by Michael Chabon & James Duff, and directed by Hanelle M. Culpepper. New episodes of STAR TREK: PICARD air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream Thursdays on Crave.
