Hottest Shows are Back on CTV, Starting Monday

As the 2010 Winter Games come to a close on Sunday, CTV turns up the heat for March with the return of its regular hit programming and the much-anticipated premieres of three all-new Canadian series. Leading the charge right out of the gate starting at

8 p.m. ET on Monday are HICCUPS and DAN FOR MAYOR, adding even more laughs to a comedy programming block also featuring all-new episodes of TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY. Other favourites returning to CTV with all-new episodes are AMERICAN IDOL, LOST, CSI and GREY’S ANATOMY, before the feature-length world premiere of THE BRIDGE on Friday, March 5 and the 82nd ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS on Sunday, March 7.

Meanwhile, the week also marks the return of CTV NEWS WITH LLOYD ROBERTSON, airing weeknights at 11 p.m. ET, including special coverage of Budget 2010 on Thursday, March 4. Additionally, Canada’s most-watched entertainment newsmagazine ETALK returns weeknights at 7 p.m. ET, including exclusive coverage of THE 2010 JUNO AWARDS nominations announcements on Wednesday, March 3.

Monday, March 1

8 p.m. – HICCUPS – “Millie, Meet Stan” – SERIES PREMIERE
Millie (Nancy Robertson) seeks help from Stan (Brent Butt) after causing a public disturbance at a coffee shop. In spite of his ineptitude Stan manages to gain Millie’s trust as a client. Meanwhile Joyce (Laura Soltis) threatens to cancel an important event unless Millie finds the help she needs.

8:30 p.m. – DAN FOR MAYOR – “The Blind Pilot” – SERIES PREMIERE
When Dan Phillips’s (Fred Ewanuick) ex-girlfriend Claire (Mary Ashton) tells him that she is engaged, Dan reacts by telling her that he is running for Mayor against an unbeatable incumbent.

9 p.m. – TWO AND A HALF MEN – “Tinkle like a Princess” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
Charlie (Charlie Sheen) runs off to Vegas and returns with a new wife, but she’s not Chelsea (Jennifer Taylor).

9:30 p.m. – THE BIG BANG THEORY – “The Excelsior Acquisition” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
Sheldon (Jim Parsons) winds up in traffic court when he gets a ticket because of Penny (Kaley Cuoco).

10 p.m. – CSI: MIAMI – “L.A.” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
In an episode directed by musician Rob Zombie, Horatio (David Caruso) and Delko (Adam Rodriguez) must travel to Los Angeles when a secret from Jesse’s (Eddie Cibrian) past may allow a killer to go free.

Tuesday, March 2

7 p.m. – LOST – “Sundown” – ALL-NEW EPISODE – SPECIAL TIME
Sayid (Naveen Andrews) is faced with a difficult decision and Claire (Emilie de Ravin) sends a warning to the temple inhabitants.

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – “Top 10 Girls Compete”
ALL-NEW TWO-HOUR PERFORMANCE EPISODE
The Top 10 female semifinalists perform live.

10 p.m. – LAW & ORDER: SVU – “Savior” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
When a series of young prostitutes are found murdered with homemade prayer cards attached to their bodies, Detectives Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Stabler (Chris Meloni) struggle to find the common thread. However, just when they think that they’ve found the murderer, Captain Donald Cragen (Dann Florek) informs the detectives that another victim named Gladys (guest star Mischa Barton, THE O.C.) has turned up with a prayer card. This time she survived. As the case unfolds, Benson finds herself getting emotionally invested in the survivor until she is forced to make a decision that she isn’t ready to face.

Wednesday, March 3

7 p.m. – ETALK
Once again, ETALK provides exclusive coverage of the nominations for THE 2010 JUNO AWARDS, to be announced earlier that day, as well as the first details on the lineup of performers.

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – “Top 10 Boys Compete”
ALL-NEW TWO-HOUR PERFORMANCE EPISODE
The Top 10 male semifinalists perform live for a chance to stay in the competition.

10 p.m. – CSI: NY – “Uncertainty Rules” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
On the night of a young man’s 21st birthday and his friends take him out to celebrate. The CSIs must trace the events of the man’s wild night to figure out why he was found walking in the middle of the street covered in his friends’ blood and wielding an axe.

Thursday, March 4

7 p.m. – CSI – “Unshockable” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
When a band member of Rascal Flatts is electrocuted by his own guitar during a concert, the CSI team investigates if it was a case of foul play.

8 p.m. – AMERICAN IDOL – “Four Finalists Eliminated”
ALL-NEW LIVE ELIMINATION EPISODE
Four more semifinalists – two girls and two boys – are eliminated from the competition and sent home after America’s vote is revealed.

9 p.m. – GREY’S ANATOMY – “Perfect Little Accident” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
When famous surgeon Dr. Harper Avery is rushed to Seattle Grace-Mercy West, the staff is surprised to discover that one of their own is related to this legend, and his unorthodox request for his surgery causes tensions between Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Richard (James Pickens Jr.). Meanwhile, Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) try to help Teddy (Kim Raver) and Sloan (Eric Dane) move on from their pasts and find greener pastures.

10 p.m. – THE MENTALIST – “Red Herring” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and the team investigate the murder of an arrogant chef during a cooking competition in Napa Valley.

Friday, March 5

8 p.m. – GHOST WHISPERER – “Implosion” – ALL-NEW 100TH EPISODE
In this 100th episode directed by series star Jennifer Love Hewitt, a ghost who knows of a hidden munitions dump with unexploded bombs confides in Melinda (Hewitt) that one of those bombs is missing and in the wrong hands.

9 p.m. – THE BRIDGE – TWO-HOUR SPECIAL SERIES PREMIERE
After the rank and file unanimously vote tough and dedicated street cop Frank Leo (Aaron Douglas) into office as head of the Police Union, he begins his quest to put street cops first and clean up the force from the ground up. But the old boys’ network running the police force and the city’s self-serving politicians are not about to sit idly by while a former street cop makes up his own rules. Leo walks the thin blue line as he battles criminals on the streets, corruption in the ranks and the politically motivated department brass, letting nothing stop him from fulfilling his unwavering vow that when cops are in trouble, he will be there to protect the protectors.

Saturday March 6

7 p.m. – W5 – “Lock ‘Em Up/Off The Lot” – ALL-NEW EPISODE
W5 returns with an up-to-the-minute look at cars and crooks. In this week’s lead story, W5’s Victor Malarek follows the Vancouver Police Chronic Offenders Unit as they target the handful of criminals who are responsible for the majority of property crime in the city: break-ins, theft – the kind of crime that affects most Canadians. The controversial zero-tolerance policy targets known offenders and gets them behind bars. With a 10 percent drop in property crime in Vancouver since the unit’s inception is the policy a success and one that might find its way to other Canadian cities? In the second story, Paula Todd leads W5’s annual undercover investigation of the used car market, conducted along with the Automobile Protection Association (APA) which assigning failing grades to dealers whose offerings are just too good to be true. What does Todd find? Flat out lies, shocking cover-ups and unethical business practices. Constantly proving itself as the most-relevant current affairs program in the country, W5’s work with the APA has brought positive change to the auto resale industry, teaching consumers how to protect themselves and recognize the signs of bad used car deals.
