Happy New Year! to everyone and Welcome to the first installment of What’s On? for 2022.
Following a short break for the holidays, the TV season ramps up again with the premiere of new content and returning favourites. On the network front, the next 2 weeks see the premiere of 10 new series, the return of Black-ish, Call Me Kat, Coroner, Kenan, Pretty Hard Cases, Superman & Lois, This is Us, Transplant & Workin’ Moms as well as the winter premiere of many network series as they return from their holiday hiatus. New series premiering in the next two weeks include CBC’s new comedies Run the Burbs & Son of a Critch, CTV’s new comedy Children Ruin Everything, CBS’s new medical drama Good Sam, FOX’s new comedy Pivoting & new crime drama The Cleaning Lady, NBC’s new comedies American Auto & Grand Crew and The CW’s new superhero drama Naomi. On the reality front, 4 new series premiere- competition series Next Level Chef and dating game show Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer both from FOX, NBC’s new music game show That’s My Jam and ABC’s new court show comedy Judge Steve Harvey. Also, I Can See Your Voice, The Amazing Race and The Bachelor return with all-new seasons.
On the specialty and streaming front, the next two weeks see the premiere of 3 new series, the return of A.P. Bio, After Life, Claws, Code 404, Crossing Swords, Euphoria, Hitmen, PEN15, Search Party and The Righteous Gemstones and the series finale of The Expanse. New series premiering in the next two weeks include HBO Max’s new superhero drama Peacemaker (airing on Crave), Netflix’s new thriller Archive 81 and Peacock’s new action-comedy MacGruber (airing on Showcase). In addition, Dexter: New Blood, Mayor of Kingstown, Station Eleven, The Game and Yellowstone conclude their current season.
Other highlights include the premiere of two new Food Network competition series- Alex vs America and Guy’s Chance of a Lifetime as well as the premiere of Gordon Ramsay’s Road Trip: Greek Vacation, a 2hr special that sees Gordon Ramsay and friends exploring the culture and cuisine of Greece. Also, Food Network series Kids Baking Championship and Wall of Chefs return for with an all new seasons.
