From the enchantment of the East Coast to the wonders of the West Coast with several stops in between, The Shopping Channel’s Norm Murray prepares to embark on a 7,300 km journey in Norm’s Second Annual Great Canadian Adventure, and Canadians are invited along for the ride – no suitcase required.
The cross-country tour takes place June 23 to 29, in celebration of Canada’s 145th birthday and The Shopping Channel’s 25th year of serving Canadians with great shopping.
Kicking off in North America’s oldest and most easterly city, St. John’s, Nfld., Norm’s whirlwind adventure includes stops in seven cities in seven days, while delivering stories, highlights, video and pictures to viewers, followers and fans, making them feel as if they’re along for the adventure, too. Norm’s adventure will conclude in picturesque Victoria, B.C., but where he stops in between will be kept under wraps until just before his departure from each airport.
It will be easy to keep tabs on Norm and get hints on his destinations through his always-entertaining tweets from @NormOhCanada, a travel diary on his blog at theshoppingchannel.com/Normand daily video messages and call-ins on The Shopping Channel.
Plus, viewers, fans and followers will have the chance to win a Great Canadian Adventure of their own: The Shopping Channel and Travelocity.ca will send one lucky winner and a guest to four Canadian cities over 8 days. Log onto theShoppingChannel.com for more information, beginning June 23.
“As a host, I’ve been coming into the homes of Canadians for nearly 20 years,” said Norm Murray, host, The Shopping Channel. “My Great Canadian Adventure gives me the chance to visit Canadians in their space, explore their cities and get to know them just a little bit better. I can’t wait to get back on the road, discover more of this amazing country and meet more amazing folks.”
Last year’s Great Canadian Adventure saw Norm encounter black bears in Lake Louise, dipping his toe into the chilly waters of the Atlantic, and enjoying some international fare at Granville Island in Vancouver. Throughout this year’s adventure, Norm will be visiting more Canadian landmarks, mingling with fans and creating some great photographic memories with the Travelocity.ca Roaming Gnome, the other traveler who accompanies Norm wherever he goes.
