This year, the 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS help the earthquake victims in Haiti by making a donation to Young Artists For Haiti. A $10,000 donation will be made on behalf of all of the MMVAs performers and presenters in lieu of a MMVAs gift lounge this year.

“MuchMusic has always been about supporting the causes that our fans champion,” said Sheila Sullivan, Executive Producer, 2010 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS. “Canadian artists and their fans are making an incredible contribution through the Young Artists For Haiti initiative and we are happy to acknowledge their efforts while helping the people of Haiti.”

“MuchMusic has been a beacon of light through the entire YAFH campaign by educating their viewers about the Haitian disaster and they have once again proven their commitment to the people of Haiti with this generous donation,” said Randy Lennox, President & CEO, Universal Music Canada. “While Haiti has fallen from daily headline news, I applaud the CTV family for remaining steadfast in their charge to help make a difference to those in need.“

All of the proceeds from Young Artists For Haiti help fund the work of Free the Children, War Child Canada, and World Vision in Haiti. For more information on Young Artists for Haiti, visit youngartistsforhaiti.net
