Summer may be almost over, but things are not cooling down as MuchMusic announced its new slate of fall premieres, specials, and returning faves. September heats up with sizzling premieres like the Upper East side’s GOSSIP GIRL (September 13), which now has a new, exclusive home on MuchMusic! Fans that can’t wait to see S and B in Paris can catch a sneak peak of the first episode on September 12. Viewers can also hit the books next month alongside the cheer squad at Lancer University in the catty new Ashley Tisdale series HELLCATS (September 10).
MuchMusic delivers the hottest, exclusive music specials, bringing fans the highly-anticipated return of Kanye West to the scene of the Taylor Swift crime with the 2010 MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS (September 12). And honouring the best in Canadian music today, viewers can watch the coolest artists on the POLARIS MUSIC PRIZE 2010 (September 25) exclusively on MuchMusic.
Fan favourites also return and keep viewers glued to their couch. Get right back into a Vampire love triangle with THE VAMPIRE DIARIES (September 10) and return to the gym with Season 2 of MAKE IT OR BREAK IT (September 15). The series searching for the next big thing – the recently renamed DISCOVERED (formerly called DISBAND) – returns in November.VIDEO ON TRIAL, MY DATE WITH…, and BORN TO BE all continue with new episodes. Serena (Blake Lively) and Blair’s (Leighton Meester) fabulous summer vacation in Paris is interrupted by a mysterious visitor, the aftermath from Georgia’s (Michelle Trachtenberg) return to Manhattan, and the ultimate fate of bad boy Chuck (Ed Westwick) is discovered.

Hell hath no fury like a cheerleader scorned. After Marti Perkins’ (Alyson Michalka, Bandslam) scholarship comes to a screeching halt, she finds herself competing for a spot on Lancer University’s cheer squad to rectify her financial setback. Marti finds herself going toe-to-toe with the competitive, peppy, and fierce cheer captain Savannah Moore (Ashley Tisdale, High School Musical). The squad must work together despite the drama to win the national title and be atop of cheerleading supremacy, and Marti has to give it all she has to make her dreams come true.

VMA Red Carpet Special at 8 p.m. ET Broadcasting live from the infamous Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, the 27th annual MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS is sure to be all A-list, with an already star-studded performance lineup including Canadians Drake and Justin Bieber, as well as Eminem, Florence + The Machine, and the man who went down in VMA history last season, Kanye West.
