Earlier today audience members joined the NEW.MUSIC.LIVE. team to announce that Vancouver’s own pop-rockers Marianas Trench lead the pack with an incredible six nominations for the 2013 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS. Toronto’s homegrown hero Drake nabbed five nods, while East Coast rapper Classified scored four, and previously announced performer, Demi Lovato, is nominated in two categories this year. First-time nominees include co-host PSY, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Phillip Phillips, and Canadians The Weeknd, Serena Ryder, and 2012 Coke Coversaward winner Tyler Shaw.The nominees join the biggest street party on the planet, the 2013 MUCHMUSIC VIDEO AWARDS, airing live on MuchMusic Sunday, June 16 at 9 p.m. ET. The 2013 MMVAs are also simulcast live in the U.S. onFuse, the national music television network of The Madison Square Garden Company. The MMVAs RED CARPET SPECIAL kicks off the night at 8 p.m. ET.
