Meanwhile a new core-drilling operation will offer incredible breakthroughs including the discovery of man-made tunnels and chambers potentially related to a treasure deposit. And for the first time in their quest, the brothers will descend and explore an old shaft that may be connected to the original Money Pit. Marty and Alex Lagina will travel to England where they will make stunning new connections between the Oak Island mystery and the Knights Templar that support the theory of the late author Zena Halpern that the medieval religious order really may have buried treasure on the island more than seven centuries ago.

NEW SERIES
The Bermuda Triangle: Into Cursed Waters

Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT with back-to-back episodes Tuesday, December 27 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET on The HISTORY Channel and available to stream on STACKTV

Mike Barnette is on the trail of a killer whose body count stretches back centuries. This murderer is not human. No one is sure exactly how it works, but we all know it’s name: The Bermuda Triangle. Set between Florida, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda, The Bermuda Triangle has swallowed hundreds of ships and planes – most without a trace and without explanation. Theories range from UFOS, to whirlpools, to conventional forces like hurricanes and rough seas. Barnette is the expert when it comes to investigating the Bermuda Triangle. He’s the deep-sea diver and scientist who located the SS Cotopaxi, one of the Bermuda Triangle’s most iconic wrecks (featured in Close Encounters of the Third Kind). Over the decades Barnette has compiled a map of unidentified wrecks all over the Bermuda Triangle. Now, he’s put together an all-star team of investigators with a track record for big discoveries. In each episode, they’ll attempt to solve the mystery of a different wreck – a crashed plane, a military jet, a submarine, or another enigmatic target. While Barnette dives the wrecks, his land team looks for eyewitnesses, lost documents, and other evidence. The goal is to identify one wreck per episode and solve the mystery of why it sank. Along the way, Barnette will investigate his personal white whale – the disappearance of Flight 19 (a fleet of WWII torpedo bombers which disappeared without a trace in 1945, along with the rescue plane sent to find it).

GIFT GUIDE

The brothers and Matty will also travel to an abandoned mine and discover valuables related to America’s first gold rush and even hunt for lost treasures connected to the Revolutionary War.
