Series High for CTV’s AMERICAN IDOL Last Night as Ellen DeGeneres Makes Judging Debut

Setting a nine-season series high, CTV’s broadcast of AMERICAN IDOL last night saw 3.56 million Canadians tune-in as Ellen DeGeneres made her judging panel debut. With 23% more viewers than the previous week’s episode, last night’s opening to Hollywood Week also made IDOL the #1 program of the day nationally, and in Toronto and Vancouver among all three key adult demos (18-34, 18-49, 25-54). Surpassing the competition by 64% (Global, NCIS, 2.17 million total viewers), an astonishing 6.38 million viewers tuned-in to some or all of the show.
