This Family Day on Cottage Life, Canadians will have the opportunity to catch up on the latest season of the hit Emmy®-awarding franchise, Life Below Zero (Series 9; 19×60’), ahead of its season finale airing on March 1. The two-day marathon event, which kicks-off on February 21, follows the off-the-grid cast of Life Below Zero, including Ricko DeWilde, Chip and Agnes Hailstone, Andy Bassich, Jessie Holmes and fan-favourite Sue Aikens as they prepare for dark winter in the Arctic. With the last of the longer days coming to an end, they must take advantage of the fall season by stockpiling resources both new and old before the waterways freeze and winter’s brutal conditions overtake the land. Cottage Life’s Life Below Zero two-day marathon will air Monday, February 21 and Tuesday, February 22 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET, with Series 9 concluding March 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT during the channel’s nationwide free preview event.

Last year it was announced that Cottage Life’s highest-rated original, Life Below Zero: Canada was renewed for a second season. Based on the Emmy® Award-winning format Life Below Zero, created and produced by BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm, the Canadian adaptation follows a group of individuals surviving in the coldest and most remote regions of Canada. The second installment is co-produced by Blue Ant Media, Quebecor Content and APTN. The new season of Life Below Zero: Canada will premiere this spring during Cottage Life’s free preview event with both new and returning cast members, including Bentley Kakekayash, Kim Pasche, Pierre-Yves Duc and fan-favourite, Becky Broderick.
