Today Rogers Media Television, a division of Rogers Communication Inc, officially cut the ribbon and dedicated its new state-of-the-art broadcast centre in honour of visionary and founder Ted Rogers. The ceremony took place live on Citytv, Breakfast Television and falls on the first anniversary of Ted Rogers’ passing.
“Housing two iconic Canadian television brands, OMNI Television and Citytv, in one landmark broadcast facility fulfills a commitment Ted Rogers made when he acquired Citytv. He had always envisioned a vibrant, high profile location that would become a part of the city of Toronto and the GTA,” commented Leslie Sole, CEO, Rogers Media Television. “I think Ted Rogers would have been proud of this moment and as Ted would say ‘The Best is Yet to Come'”.
Ted Rogers’ wife, Loretta Rogers; Toronto City Councillor, Kyle Rae; President, Rogers Media, Tony Viner; and CEO, Rogers Media Television, Leslie Sole cut the ribbon. A portrait of Ted Rogers and a plaque in his honour was also unveiled and will hang in the foyer at 33 Dundas Street East.
