Sportsnet Set to Drop Puck on 2015-16 Toronto Maple Leafs Season with 56 Games on Television

Is it October yet? Sportsnet is primed to deliver Toronto Maple Leafs fans premium access to their team this 2015-16 NHL season, with 56 games on TV and 41 games on radio on Sportsnet 590 The FAN.  The Toronto Maple Leafs regular season gets underway in perfect Original Six style on Sportsnet, Sportsnet 590 The FAN and Rogers NHL GameCentre LIVE™ at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT on Wednesday, Oct. 7 – opening night of the NHL regular season – as the Maple Leafs host the Montreal Canadiens.

For members of Leafs Nation who can’t wait until October to see their beloved team, Sportsnet will deliver coverage of three pre-season Maple Leafs games, kicking off Friday, Sept. 25 as Toronto hosts the Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT onSportsnet 360. On TV – Regional

All of Sportsnet’s 16 regional Maple Leafs games on TV will air on Sportsnet Ontario. Sportsnet’s regional TV broadcast schedule kicks off on Monday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. ET as the Leafs host the Dallas Stars.

 

In the broadcast booth, veteran broadcaster Paul Romanuk returns to call play-by-play for all of the Toronto regional broadcasts alongside analyst Greg Millen.

 

Highlights from Sportsnet’s regional Maple Leafs broadcast schedule include:

  • Two matchups against the Stanley Cup finalist Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Two games against the 2014-15 Pacific Division champion Anaheim Ducks

The NHL on Sportsnet will deliver 40 national Maple Leafs broadcasts this season. Highlights from the Leafs national package include:

  • Coverage of coach Mike Babcock’s return to Detroit on Friday, Oct. 9, as the Red Wings host the Maple Leafs in their season opener at Joe Louis Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet
  • 24 Hockey Night in Canada Saturday matchups, kicking off Saturday, Oct. 10 as the Leafs host the Ottawa Senators at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT
  • 10 appearances on Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey

On Radio – Sportsnet 590 The FAN

Sportsnet 590 The FAN will broadcast 41 Toronto Maple Leafs games this season, as well as a pre-season matchup when the Leafs host on the Canadiens on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. ET.

 

Joe Bowen, the legendary voice of the Maple Leafs, returns to call the play-by-play for all Sportsnet 590 The FAN game broadcasts alongside analyst and former goalie Jim Ralph.

 

For all 41 games on radio, former Leafs GM Gord Stellick will host the two-hour Leafs Nation Post-Game to wrap up each broadcast. Plus, every Saturday night during the regular season – beginning Saturday, Oct. 10 – Stellick will host Sportsnet Hockey Tonight from 5 – 7 p.m. ET.
