CBC’ REPUBLIC OF DOYLE Ignites Sunday Night With a Dramatic New Episode, April 14

On this week’s episode of REPUBLIC OF DOYLE, Jake (Allan Hawco) heads to the police station to surprise Leslie (Krystin Pellerin) at the end of her shift, but his plans are quickly derailed when he and Des (Mark O’Brien) walk right into a hostage situation.

A crazed bomber, sporting a vest stacked with explosives (guest star, Luis Guzman) has taken control of the station and refuses to leave until his demands are met, which include clearing the name of his incarcerated brother. It’s up to Jake to diffuse the situation from the inside before the hostage crisis turns fatal. Trapped outside, Leslie leads the RNC command post, giving orders to officers and positioning snipers. Though she deftly handles the police response to the hostage taking, she is left feeling helpless as she anxiously watches Jake, on the security monitors, as his life is in danger.
