Week of August 24-30: Programming Highlights for The CTV Channel Group

MUST-WATCH FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 24

CTV: In the two-hour season premiere of LOVE ISLAND, airing Monday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CTV, host Arielle Vandenberg and narrator Matthew Hoffman return with an all-new cast of quarantined sexy singles shooting in a sequestered “bubble” at the Cromwell, a Caesars Entertainment boutique hotel in Las Vegas. A group of single “Islanders” will come together in a stunning setting, ready to embark on a summer of love, friendships and, ultimately, relationships. Every few days, the Islanders must couple up – those who fail to find a partner to couple up with risk being dumped from the “island.” In addition to choosing their partners wisely, Islanders must also win the hearts of viewers who have the opportunity to shape events on screen and ultimately crown one lucky couple the winner, who will then have the chance to walk away with both love and the cash prize. Following the premiere, episodes will air this week on Tuesday, Aug. 25; Thursday, Aug. 27; Friday, Aug. 28; and Sunday, Aug. 30 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on CTV.

CTV Comedy Channel: THE DAILY SOCIAL DISTANCING SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH continues back-to-back weeks of scathing U.S. Democratic and Republican national convention coverage. Expanded to five-nights-a-week with 45-minute episodes, THE DAILY SHOW airs Monday to Friday at 11 p.m. ET/PT.

CTV Drama Channel: Season 2 of IN THE DARK comes to an end on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 9 p.m. ET. Will there be light at the end of the tunnel for the Guiding Hope crew? After Nia’s (Nicki Micheaux, LINCOLN HEIGHTS) missing drug shipment proved that betrayal runs deep, the consequences are devastating for the Guiding Hope crew.

CTV Life Channel: From lavish weddings, to outrageous blowouts, to epic family drama, BRIDEZILLAS continues to showcase the best of the worst with all-new, back-to-back episodes airing Tuesday, Aug. 25 beginning at 5 p.m. ET.

CTV Sci-Fi Channel: With WYNONNA EARP’s six remaining Season 4 episodes currently in production, Earpers can savour every minute of the midseason finale on Sunday, Aug. 30 at 10 p.m. ET. In the high-stakes episode, the gang races to save one of their own, but are hindered by unseen forces. Meanwhile, Doc (Tim Rozon, BEING HUMAN) forms a most unexpected alliance, and Wynonna (Melanie Scrofano, LETTERKENNY) makes her choice.

CTV Movies: The crime thriller Heist joins CTV Movies on Thursday, Aug. 27. The action-packed film follows Joe Moore (Gene Hackman, THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS), a professional thief whose face is captured by a security camera forcing him to retire from his life of crime. After his associate Bergman (Danny Devito) reneges on the money he’s owed and his wife betrays him with another man, Moore is left broke, betrayed, and blackmailed.  Along with his team of fellow robbers, Moore commits to one last big heist so he can retire with riches and start a new life.

CTV Digital: In an all-new episode of UNITED WE FALL, available exclusively on CTV.ca and the CTV app beginning Aug. 27, Bill (Will Sasso, MADTV) and Jo (Christina Vidal, SNEAKY PETE) decide to renew their vows in honour of their 10-year anniversary, but their overzealous extended family and an approaching snowstorm threaten to ruin the event.
