Monday, Oct. 8:

Is heaven real? Katie Couric talks to people whose close encounters with death have brought them into contact with God and the afterlife, including the author of To Heaven and Back, Mary Neal.

“Nannies”

When Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and Marshall (Jason Segel) have trouble finding a nanny, they learn it’s because of an elaborate scheme Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) came up with to meet girls. Meanwhile, Robin (Cobie Smulders) and Ted (Josh Radnor) butt heads over who has a more serious relationship.

“The Jeter Exception”

After Joe (David Krumholtz) tells Louis (Michael Urie) about sexy photos he uncovered of Ali (Sophia Bush) with famous baseball player Derek Jeter, Ali questions Joe’s ability to keep a secret from his partner.

2 Broke Girls (s/CBS): 9 p.m. ET/PT, 10 p.m. MT, 8 p.m. CT

“And The Hold Up”

Max (Kat Dennings) and Caroline (Beth Behrs) show their true colours when the diner gets robbed. Meanwhile, everyone sees a surprising new side of Han (Matthew Moy).

“The Plague Dogs”

After Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) and Nora (Daniella Alonso) rescue Miles (Billy Burke) from the Militia, they set off to meet Aaron (Zak Orth) and Maggie (Anna Lise Phillips). All the while, Nate (JD Pardo) is tracking Miles and Charlieat every turn. As the gang reunites and continues on their journey, unforeseeable challenges await.

Tuesday, Oct. 9:

“Around the House”

Fall is here and chefs Michael Bonacini and Jason Parsons join host Tracy Moore to prepare recipes using the autumn harvest. Then, Frankie Flowers gives a lesson on storing produce, and Sandra Pittana demonstrates a floral arrangement for fresh cut flowers.

Katie: 4 p.m. ET/PT/CT, 3 p.m. MT

Couric puts the spotlight on celebrities who are famous for one thing, and extremely successful at another, as she sits down with former basketball great-turned-blockbuster businessman Magic Johnson, and super model-turned-super mogul, Kathy Ireland.

“Throw Maw-Maw From The House, Part 1”
A social worker visits the Chance house to investigate a claim, but when she spots some of the tactics the family employs to keep Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) under control, she starts to suspect the Chances of elder abuse and threatens to take her away.

Ben and Kate (s/FOX): 8:30 p.m. ET/PT, 9:30 p.m. MT, 7:30 p.m. CT

“The Fox Hunt”
Ben (Nat Faxton) and Kate (Dakota Johnson) discover an unopened envelope from 15 years ago that contains the yearly scavenger hunt their dad used to organize for them when they were kids. The find prompts them to complete the unfinished hunt, but raises old issues of sibling rivalry.

The New Girl (s/FOX): 9 p.m. ET/PT, 10 p.m. MT, 8 p.m. CT

“Neighbours”
When a group of young twenty-something neighbours moves in across the hall, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) are determined to become friends with them. Meanwhile, Nick (Jake Johnson) enacts a series of pranks on Schmidt to make him think he’s getting old.

The Mindy Project (s/FOX): 9:30 p.m. ET/PT, 10:30 p.m. MT, 8:30 p.m. CT

“Danny Castellano Is My Gyno”
When Mindy (Mindy Kaling) must find a new gynecologist, she asks Danny (Chris Messina) to assume the role. Eventually, he accepts  on the grounds that Mindy will feel too uncomfortable to go through with the exam. Then, the two play a game of chicken to see who will back out of the deal first.

Private Practice (s/ABC): 10 p.m. ET/PT, 8 p.m. MT, 9 p.m. CT
“Good Grief”
After hearing a patient’s chilling confession, Violet (Amy Brenneman) turns to Sheldon (Brian Benben) for advice. Meanwhile, Addison (Kate Walsh) tries to keep her grief a secret, and Cooper (Paul Adelstein) and Charlotte (KaDee Strickland) adapt to their new reality.

Wednesday, Oct. 10:

“Family Day”

Dr. David Greenberg, Dr. Karyn Gordon, Sandi Richards and Kathy Buckworth join host Tracy Moore in-studio for Family Day. Guest experts cover ways to stave off a cold this winter and easy delicious meals kids will love to eat (and maybe even help make).

Couric addresses how to protect kids online, as she goes inside the minds of online predators to discover the shocking details of how and why they stalk children.

“Bunny Therapy”

When Brick (Atticus Shaffer) develops yet another quirky tic, Frankie (Patricia Heaton) and Mike (Neil Flynn) are urged by the school therapist to get him a small pet. But when they present Brick with an ill-tempered bunny, the tiny animal teaches the Heck family the true meaning of evil.

“Snip”

Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) have a five-year plan  to vacation and enjoy life once all the kids are out of the house. In order to keep that plan on track, Phil goes in for a vasectomy. Meanwhile, now that Lily’s in kindergarten, Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) tries to gently steer Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) towards a part-time job to occupy all his extra time.

Modern Family (s/ABC): 9pm ET/PT, 10:30 p.m. MT, 8 p.m. CT

“Schooled”
The day has arrived for Phil (Ty Burrell) and Claire (Julie Bowen) to drop Haley (Sarah Hyland) off at college. Meanwhile, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) drop Lily off for the first day of kindergarten, but when she gets into a tussle with another little boy, they end up having a meeting with the boy’s confrontational lesbian parents.
