Rogers Media today announced that Stephen Brunt, sports columnist with the Globe and Mail, has signed on with Rogers Sportsnet and Sportsnet Radio.

Brunt will continue as a co-host on Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown, and will appear on Sportsnet Connected on a regular basis as well as other special studio features. Brunt will also produce video essays, similar to the ones which aired at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, capturing the emotions of Canadians from coast-to-coast.

“Stephen has been a solid fixture on Prime Time Sports with Bob McCown, forming one of the strongest teams in Canadian sports broadcasting,” said Scott Moore, President Broadcasting, Rogers Media. “Sportsnet is truly excited to add someone with such a phenomenal sports background.”

Brunt has authored several successful books such as the No.1-Canadian best seller Searching for Bobby Orr, as well as the internationally recognized Facing Ali, which was selected as one of the top 10 sports books of the year in 2003, and most recently Gretzky’s Tears, which chronicles Wayne Gretzky’s 1988 trade to the Los Angeles Kings.
