- Making its Canadian streaming debut, NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE (adapted from the web series NIRVANA THE BAND THE SHOW), Canadian mockumentary film NIRVANNA THE BAND THE SHOW THE MOVIE is created by Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol, who co-star as fictionalised versions of themselves. In the film, Matt and Jay, two perpetually unemployed musicians, hatch an elaborate plan to book a gig at Toronto’s legendary Rivoli club. When their scheme goes awry, they find themselves transported back to 2008, stranded in the past with no clear way home. The six-time Canadian Screen Award winning film, including Best Motion Picture premieres on Canada Day, Wednesday, July 1.
July 7 – Crave Original Series DARK SIDE OF THE RING *Season 7 Premiere*
- The highly anticipated new season of the Crave Original series DARK SIDE OF THE RING kicks off with a special event – on Tuesday, July 7 at 9 p.m. ET – featuring an unprecedented two-part documentary special exploring the ambition, controversy, and backstage battles of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. Season 7 continues with new episodes streaming Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET, exploring the darkest stories from the golden age of professional wrestling.
July 23 – HBO Max Original Series STUART FAILS TO SAVE THE UNIVERSE *Premiere*
- Comic bookstore owner Stuart Bloom (Kevin Sussman) is tasked with restoring reality after he breaks a device built by Sheldon and Leonard, accidentally bringing about a multiverse Armageddon. Stuart is aided in this quest by his girlfriend Denise (Lauren Lapkus), geologist friend Bert (Brian Posehn), and quantum physicist/all-around pain in the ass Barry Kripke (John Ross Bowie). Along the way, they meet alternate-universe versions of characters we’ve come to know and love from “The Big Bang Theory.” As the title implies, things don’t go well. The 10-episode series follows a weekly release schedule with new episodes dropping Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
July 31 – Starz Original FIGHTLAND *Series Premiere*
- On the night that British-born boxer Duke Kilroy (Howard Charles) becomes world heavyweight champion, a vicious assault leaves his brother, Calvin, dead. Duke is devastated and his reaction in the aftermath costs him eight years in a U.S. prison. Upon his release, and after having made a sinister discovery, Duke returns home seeking vengeance against the man he believes set him up — the criminal kingpin and former promoter, Kingsley Marshall (Nicholas Pinnock). But Kingsley has vanished, leaving his children and wife, Joy (Deborah Ayorinde), who happens to be the love of Duke’s life, to pick up the pieces. A disgraced boxing champion is released from prison and returns to London to take revenge on the crime family that betrayed him. The new original boxing crime series executive produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson streams weekly on Fridays.
