Sportsnet Presents Exclusive Full Field Coverage of the Historic 49th Vanier Cup, Nov. 23

This weekend the road to the Vanier Cup comes full stop and for one Canadian university team, glory awaits. Sportsnet, the new home of the Vanier Cup, takes fans down the field at Université Laval Stadium in Quebec City, QC for exclusive, all-access multiplatform coverage of theTelus Vanier Cup between the Calgary Dinos and the defending champion Laval Rouge et Or this Saturday, Nov. 23 beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET/9:30 a.m. PTon Sportsnet, Sportsnet.ca, and on the Sportsnet radio network (see details below).

Play-by-play announcer Tim Micallef and analyst and CFL Grey Cup champion Mike Morreale hit the broadcast booth to call the game, while former CIS quarterback Justin Dunk and Sportsnet’s Caroline Cameron report from the sidelines. Host Brad Fay will be joined on-location at the Laval campus by analyst and former Vanier Cup winner Andy Baechler, with special guests including McMaster head football coach Stefan Ptaszek, as well as two-time all-Canadian receiver and the Canadian Bachelor, Brad Smith. Sportsnet’s award-winning journalist Stephen Brunt will also make a special appearance on the panel.

Sportsnet’s coverage of the 49th Vanier Cup marks the first year of a new six-year agreement between Sportsnet and the Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS), which includes the multiplatform rights to an all-encompassing portfolio of CIS sports across television, online, and mobile.

The second-ranked Laval Rouge et Or make their fourth consecutive trip to the Vanier Cup after beating the Mount Allison Mounties 48-21 in the Uteck Bowl last Saturday. On the other side of the ball, No. 3 ranked Calgary Dinos return for their third Vanier Cup appearance in the last five years, following a lopsided 44-3 victory over the Western Mustangs in last week’s Mitchell Bowl, led by star running back Mercer Timmis.
