  •          THE WAY, WAY BACK: CANADA AM movie buff Richard Crouse sits down with Jim Rash (COMMUNITY) and Nat Faxon (Beerfest), the writers and directors of the new film The Way, Way Back. The film follows the story of a teenager having a rough summer vacation with his family, who finds friendship in an unlikely place.
  •          CALGARY COOKING: Chef Jennifer Mackenzie is in studio to create some classic stampede dishes using barley, Canada’s home grown-super food.

Tuesday, July 9

  •          OLYMPIC OPPORTUNITIES: Canadian Olympic heroes Simon Whitfield and Mary Spencer stop by CANADA AM to talk about the pressures of being an amateur athlete and a new program being launched to help them.
  •          GUILLERMO DEL TORO: The Oscar-nominated producer and director converses with CANADA AM’s Richard Crouse about Pacific Rim, his new summer-blockbuster with alien invaders battling massive, human-piloted robots.
  •          GARAGE DAYS: Great deal  or garbage? CANADA AM welcomes garage sale expert Veronica Harding for advice on what to sell, when to sell, and how to sell it to make it profitable.

Wednesday, July 10

  •          URBAN GARDENING: Mark Cullen’s Urban Gardening series continues with ground cover that can also flourish in a sunshine-deprived area.
  •          SUMMER SAKE: CANADA AM brings in sake sommelier Michael Tremblay to prove that the Japanese beverage, long thought to be only served hot, can also be enjoyed cold during the summer months. Tremblay will showcase some ideas for sake cocktails and sake side-dishes as well.
  •          SHE KING: Toronto’s own Shawnee She King performs on the CANADA AM Soundstage before kicking off her summer tour.

  •          PIPER KERMAN: Author Piper Kerman talks with CANADA AM about her memoir Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison that has been adapted into an original television series.
  •          CLAYTON BELLAMY: JUNO-award winner Clayton Bellamy performs a roots-rock song from his fourth solo album Five Crow Silver on the CANADA AM Soundstage.

Friday, July 12

  •          ROGER MOOKING: Chef and musician Roger Mooking starts a patio party by cooking up a rare beef quesadilla and performing the title track from his new old-school hip hop album Feedback.
  •          JASON BIGGS: American Pie star Jason Biggs stops by CANADA AM to talk about his new role in the upcoming series Orange is the New Black.
  •          DAVID RAKOFF: The renowned humourist David Rakoff wrote his last book and first novel before losing his battle with cancer. His siblings Ruth and Simon sit with CANADA AM to talk about his final work, Love, Dishonor, Marry, Die, Cherish, Perish: A Novel.
