This May, W Network is celebrating women everywhere by hosting the ultimate pajama party, the Dove Sleepover for Self-Esteem; honouring all things British on Victoria Day with two Princess Diana documentaries and a special movie presentation, and concluding the month with the premiere of the Lifetime movie Living Proof, starring Harry Connick Jr.
THE ULTIMATE SLEEPOVER FOR SELF-ESTEEM
On Saturday, May 2, thousands of moms and girls across the country will be participating in the Dove Sleepover for Self-Esteem. This sleepover party encourages moms, mentors and daughters to get cosy and tune in to engage in conversation and celebrate self-esteem. As part of the event, W Network is airing the movie 13 Going on 30 at 8 p.m., and has replaced all the commercials during the film with hosted segments. Throughout the evening self-esteem expert Jessica Weiner, along with Candice Olson from W Network’s Divine Design, will lead discussions with viewers at home about the issues that characters are facing in the movie and encouraging Sleepover viewers to share their experiences and opinions.
VICTORIA DAY
W commemorates Queen Victoria’s birthday with a special Monday afternoon dedicated to British heroines of fact and fiction. On Monday, May 18, beginning at noon, two documentaries examine the untimely death of Princess Diana and its impact on the world. Then at 2 p.m., Jane Austen’s classic romantic novel gets a breezy interpretation in Emma, starring Kate Beckinsale.
DIANA’S LAST DAY
This one-hour documentary tells the story of Princess Diana’s last day through photos and news footage that captured her final 24 hours, including the immediate aftermath of the fatal crash in the Pont d’Alma tunnel in Paris. Diana’s Last Day features exclusive footage of the Princess of Wales in her final day and studies what role the paparazzi played in the accident. Diana’s Last Day airs Monday, May 18 at noon.
WHO KILLED DIANA?
Although the official story is that Princess Diana was killed in a car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997, many theories have arisen around her sudden and tragic death. Who Killed Diana? attempts to unravel the mystery and takes a closer look at the various conspiracy theories, examining whether or not the facts support the idea that the death of Diana was not an accident. Who Killed Diana? airs Monday, May 18 at 1 p.m.
