Rogers Media Hits the Court for Multiplatform Coverage of the 2012 Rogers Cup, Free Preview of FX Canada during the event

Rogers Media takes fans courtside in Toronto and Montreal for multiplatform coverage of the 2012 Rogers Cup presented by National Bank , delivering live action and premium content across its TV, radio, online, mobile and print suite of assets.  Coverage begins Monday, Aug. 6 and runs through Friday, Aug. 10.

The men’s event, taking place at Rexall Centre in Toronto, features Matt Devlin as play-by-play announcer alongside analyst and former professional tennis player Jimmy Arias, while Christine Simpson reports from courtside. Host Roger Millions and analyst Damien Cox round out the Toronto broadcast team.

At the women’s event from Uniprix Stadium in Montreal, Rob Kerr will handle play-by-play, with two-time U.S. Open singles champion and Wimbledon mixed doubles champion Tracy Austin providing analysis. Host Dan Murphy is joined by analyst and former Canadian Davis Cup team member Robert Bettauer, while reporter Alyson Lozoff provides updates from courtside.

Fifty-nine of the top 60 tennis players in the world are expected to compete in the 2012 Rogers Cup. Toronto will welcome the top 35 men including Canadian sensation Milos Raonic, defending Rogers Cup champion Novak Djokovic, seven-time French Open winner Rafael Nadal, 17-time Grand Slam champion and current world No. 1 Roger Federer and two-time Rogers Cup titlist Andy Murray. In Montreal, 24 of the top 25 women will hit Uniprix Stadium, including current world No. 1 Victoria Azarenka, as well as world No. 2 Agnieszka Radwanska and world No. 3 Maria Sharapova.

·       Sportsnet ONE, Citytv and FX Canada team up to provide comprehensive live coverage of the first three rounds and quarter-finals of the men’s event (Aug. 6-10) and first three rounds of women’s event (Aug. 7-10). Full broadcast schedule is below

·       Fans attending the events in Toronto and Montreal can submit their photos on sportsnet.ca’s Instagram gallery

·       sportsnet.ca will also feature exclusive photo galleries highlighting the top 12 photos of each day of the tournament, including a behind-the-scenes gallery of Milos Raonic as he prepares for his match

·       Rogers wireless customers will have access to live streaming of the Rogers Cup and additional sports content on their smartphones with the Rogers Anyplace TV Live mobile app, available through the Apple App Store, Google Play and BlackBerry App World. For $5/month, the app provides unlimited hours of viewing until October 31, after which time users can stream 5 hours per month at $1 per each additional hour
