BritBox is kicking off summer with three BritBox Original premieres slated for June. A major highlight for the month is the highly anticipated exclusive premiere of The Barking Murders. From the award-winning writing team, Jeff Pope (Isolation Stories, Deep Water) and Neil McKay (The Suspician of Mr. Whicher, The Moorside), this chilling true crime story reveals the courageous families of four young gay men who lost their lives to killer Stephen Port and their fight for justice for their loved ones. The series reveals the devastating impact that these crimes had on both the victims’ loved ones and on the wider gay community in London. On June 14, Redemption, a new crime drama from the producers of hit series The Bay, will also exclusively premiere on BritBox. A powerful story about family and second chances at its heart, the series follows the life of a dedicated detective (Paula Malcomson, The Hunger Games) whose estranged daughter has been found dead and the events that follow.
Also premiering in June is the return of Grace, a BritBox Original thriller written by Russell Lewis (Endeavour) and based on the bestselling Roy Grace series by Peter James. Starring John Simm (Life on Mars, Trauma), the story picks up months from DS Roy Grace’s last investigation as he and his team face a new set of shocking cases. At the end of June, Call the Midwife returns for an 11th season on the 28th.

After demonstrating their well-meaning ineptitude at the Olympic Deliverance Commission in Twenty Twelve, Ian Fletcher has now joined the British Broadcasting Corporation for BAFTA-winning W1A, a fictional satirical behind-the-scenes series based at the BBC’s London headquarters. Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey) and Jessica Hynes (There She Goes) return to their roles alongside a new cast and David Tennant (There She Goes) as the narrator.
