TV Gord’s WHAT’S ON for the week of March 24th to 30th, 2019

A bunch of big shows are back this week, including Veep, which enters its final season; Bill Hader’s Barry; Stana Katic’s Absentia; Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger; DC’s Doom Patrol (spinning off of Titans), and the long-anticipated revival of The Twilight Zone. All that, and the Canadian Screen Awards, too! Happy viewing!

The 7th annual ceremony to honour achievements in Canadian film, television and digital media.

Call the Midwife – 8 to 9pm on PBS – 8th Season Premiere

Mrs. Wilson – 9 to 11pm on PBS – Series Premiere

Ruth Wilson stars in this three-part drama based on a memoir of her real-life grandmother. In the opener, Alison Wilson believes she in a happy marriage until her husband dies, and another woman shows up, claiming to be the real Mrs. Wilson.

Keeping Up With the Kardashians – 9 to 10pm on E! – 16th Season Premiere

Tuesday

Trials of the Wild – 8 to 9pm (two episodes) on NatGeo Wild – Series Premiere

This series follows the migration of various animals, by land, sea and air.

Doom Patrol – 9 to 11:30pm (two episodes) on Space – Series Premiere

Diane Guerrero, Matt Bomer, Brendan Fraser and Timothy Dalton headline this series, which is based on the DC Comics team, and is a spinoff of the series, Titans.

Condor – 9 to 10pm on Superchannel Fuse – Series Premiere

Based on the novel, Six Days of the Condor, and the subsequent film, this spy thriller follows CIA analyst Joe Turner (Max Irons), whose idealism is tested when he stumbles onto a brilliant but terrible plan that threatens the lives of millions.

Jordan Peele hosts and narrates the revival of the classic anthology series of science fiction, fantasy, and the occult.

Perry Mattfield stars as a young blind woman named Murphy who finds the dead body of one of her few friends and calls police, but the body disappears before they arrive. Since they don’t see any reason to investigate further, it’s up to Murphy to find out what happened to her friend.
