April’s a Joke on CTV Comedy Channel With Fresh New Series CHAD and DOING THE MOST WITH PHOEBE ROBINSON

CTV Comedy Channel’s springs into action with all-new comedies this April, including two, female-led series CHAD and DOING THE MOST WITH PHOEBE ROBINSON, and the re-imagined classic game show, WIPEOUT. Each series is also available on the all-new CTV.ca and CTV app.

The April schedule kicks off with new kid on the block, CHAD, which sees 39-year-old actress, Nasim Pedrad, (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE) star as Ferydoon “Chad” Amani, a 14-year-old boy struggling to fit in at school. The eight–episode, half-hour cringe comedy, which Entertainment Weekly calls “painfully funny,”  airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT, beginning April 6.

Fridays on CTV Comedy are ripe for a twist on the late night talk show format with the debut of DOING THE MOST WITH PHOEBE ROBINSON, beginning April 9 with back-to-back episodes at 11 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. ET/PT. The 10-episode half-hour, interview-style series stars and is executive produced by the stand-up comedian herself – New York Times best-selling author, actress, and “Dope Queen” Phoebe Robinson.

Ready to crack-up Canadians in need of some slapstick laughs, the iconic extreme obstacle course series WIPEOUT is back. Airing Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT starting April 15, the brand new reboot is hosted by John Cena (Fast & Furious) and Nicole Byer (NAILED IT!), and features new extreme twists to push contestant’s athleticism, endurance, and determination as they fight to win the grand cash prize.

CTV Comedy continues to stack up the late night laughs with all-new episodes of FULL FRONTAL WITH SAMANTHA BEE, Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT while all-new episodes of THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH continue Monday-Thursday at 11 p.m. ET/PT, followed by new episodes of CONAN, Monday-Thursday at 11:45 p.m. ET/PT.

CHAD

Series Premiere: Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy beginning April 6

Teetering between extreme cringe comedy and relatable tales of teenage angst, CHAD follows a 14-year-old pubescent Persian boy (Nasim Pedrad) as he navigates his first year of high school on a mission to become popular. Chad’s friendships and sanity are pushed to the limits as he uses every tactic at his disposal to befriend the cool kids, while enduring his mother’s new dating life, and reconciling with his cultural identity. Multi-talented Pedrad also serves as creator, writer, executive producer, and showrunner of the series.

DOING THE MOST WITH PHOEBE ROBINSON

Series Premiere: Fridays at 11 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy, beginning April 9

Infusing laugh-out-loud interviews with fun activities and learning new skills, new unscripted series DOING THE MOST WITH PHOEBE ROBINSON sees host Phoebe Robinson (2 DOPE QUEENS) as she creates adventures and experiences with her celebrity guests that take us into their world and out of her comfort zone. From tackling a high ropes course with Kevin Bacon, learning magic with The Property Brothers, horseback riding with Whitney Cummings and more, each episode of the series shows the audience a new side some of the world’s pop culture luminaries. Additional guests include Tan France, Ashley Graham, Hasan Minhaj, Eric Nam, Amber Ruffin, Dulcé Sloan, and Gabrielle Union. The show is the first project from Robinson’s recently formed production company, Tiny Reparations.

WIPEOUT

Series Reboot Premiere: Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CTV Comedy, beginning April 15

WIPEOUT is back with 20-hours of new, edgier challenges that push contestants to their limits. This newly re-imagined format promises more laugh-out-loud moments, wipeouts, and epic fails than ever before. Hosted by John Cena and Nicole Byer with the help from field host, Camille Kostek (I Feel Pretty), each game has three rounds and now features a jaw-dropping, three-stage, obstacle course consisting of multiple strategy and decision points, designed to test the stamina of the competitors as they fight for the grand cash prize. The series’ iconic big balls also make a return, bringing many laughs and surprises along the way for fans.
