New on Netflix Canada: New episodes of Damages, Aquarion, Trailer Park Boys and more!

This is a list of what’s new on Netflix Canada for the week of july 9th, 2012.

Aquarion (new episodes)

Eleven years ago, the Shadow Angels began enslaving humans. Now, man’s only hope is the mecha warrior Aquarion, powered by three rebel angels. With humankind reduced to roaming bands of survivors, Aquarion fights its own masters to reclaim Earth.

Trailer Park Boys (new episodes)

This wickedly funny mockumentary series follows the booze-fueled misadventures of Julian (John Paul Tremblay), Ricky (Robb Wells) and Bubbles (Mike Smith), longtime pals and petty serial criminals who run scams from their Nova Scotia trailer park — when they aren’t in jail, that is. But kudos to the lads for their persistence, even if their harebrained get-rich schemes involve growing pot right under the nose of ex-cop Jim (John Dunsworth).

The Swell Season

Exploring the realities of fame and great expectations, this poignant documentary shadows indie folk artists Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová on a whirlwind tour in the wake of their Oscar win for the haunting anthem “Falling Slowly” (from Once).

Queen of the Sun: What Are the Bees Telling Us?

This film documents the surprising importance of the lowly honeybee, describing how bees’ pollinating activities play a crucial role in the food chain and how recent catastrophic “colony collapses” could interrupt global food production.

Damages (new episodes)

Emmy winner Glenn Close is riveting as lawyer extraordinaire Patty Hewes, whose intellect is as boundless as her morals are skimpy. With her devoted colleague, Tom Shayes, and conflicted protégé, Ellen Parsons, Patty rules the New York legal scene.

Fatso

Obsessed with women but still a virgin, an overweight loner named Rino keeps himself going with porn and his own bizarrely erotic comic stories. Suddenly, his lonely life is transformed by his new housemate, the beautiful and very sexual Malin.

The Glades

Abrasive homicide detective Jim Longworth hopes to massage his recently bruised ego by moving from Chicago to Florida’s Everglades, but a new romantic relationship and the unusually high murder rate thwart his plans for relaxing on the golf course.
