A few notable premieres are coming up this week, including the second season returns of two of my favourites from last year: Succession and Lodge 49. Also, The Terror returns, The Teen Choice Awards are back, and Jimmy Kimmel’s collaboration with the great TV creator Norman Lear is back for another airing next Saturday. Also, you can re-visit (or visit for the first time) the classic 1960s sitcom, Gidget. Happy viewing!

Teen Choice 2019 – 8 to 10pm on Fox

The awards ceremony/party happens from Hermosa Beach, California, for the first time this year. Lucy Hale hosts, and performers include OneRepublic, Blanco Brown, Jordan McGraw, Sarah Hyland, Brazzi, Mabel, and HRVY.

Succession – 9 to 10pm on HBO – 2nd Season Premiere

Undercover Billionaire – 9 to 10pm on Discovery – Series Premiere

Businessman Glenn Stearns heads to Erie, Pa, to build a million-dollar company from scratch in just 90 days.

Best. Pool. Ever. – 9 to 9:30pm on HGTV- Series Premiere

This home improvement series focuses on amazing pools that are feats of engineering and imagination.

The Sex Clinic – 11pm to midnight on Out – Series Premiere

This series cuts through the myths and taboos about sex to provide facts about young people’s sexual health.

Monday

The Terror – 9 to 10:10pm on AMC – 2nd Season Premiere

Lodge 49 – 10:10 to 11:20pm on AMC – 2nd Season Premiere

Tuesday

Mysteries Decoded – 9 to 10pm on The CW – Series Premiere

This investigative newsmagazine examines some of America’s greatest unsolved mysteries. In the opener, new evidence emerges in one of the most infamous cases in American history, the Lizzie Borden murders.

Thursday

Gidget – 11:30am to 12PM on CHCH – Classic Series Premiere

Have you checked out CHCH’s lineup of Retro shows? On Thursday, The Monkees is replaced by the early Sally Field sitcom., Gidget (which was based on the 1960s teen beach movies. The series only lasted one season, so it’s a great summer series to check out for the campy nostalgia of it all.

Saturday

Live in Front of a Studio Audience: Norman Lear’s All In the Family and The Jeffersons – 8:00 to 9:32pm on ABC

A rerun of one of this season’s most unusual specials, featuring some of today’s biggest stars re-enacting classic episodes of these two comedy greats from the 1970s. Followed by a behind-the scenes special that runs to 10pm.
