TV Gord’s What’s On for the week of June 14-20, 2015

The past few columns have been covering the week from Monday to Sunday, but after receiving some comments from people who prefer this column to cover the “calendar week” (Sunday to Saturday), I’m going back to that. Also, I’m committed to posting this every Friday to give you more time to plan your viewing week. I hope you like this adjustments.

Oh, and all times are eastern. Happy viewing, here we go: 🙂

Thursday

The Astronaut Wives Club – 8pm on ABC

This ten-episode story of the wives of the Apollo astronauts was almost harder to launch than a space mission. It was supposed to air during the 2013-14 season, but kept getting postponed and retooled. The finished product is finally here!

Mistresses – 9 to 11pm on ABC and CTV – 3rd Season Premiere

Almost all of the “mistresses” are back for season three, but star Alyssa Milano has decided to quit because the production has moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver, and she didn’t want to be separated from her family. Jennifer Esposito (who coincidentally had her own contentious split from her last series, Blue Bloods) is joining the cast.

Complications – 9 to 11pm on Bravo – Series Premiere

Jason O’Mara stars as Dr. John Ellison, a man who has a complicated life both at home and at work…and some places in between. A year after losing his daughter to cancer, Doc Ellison finds himself in a life-or-death situation where he is forced to take the life of another. More complications. You get the idea.

Guys Choice 2015 – 9 to 11pm on Spike

Empire’s Taraji B. Henson and Terrence Howard co-host this year’s ceremony honouring all things “Guy”. Chris Pratt will be honoured as “Guy of The Year”. Other honourees include Floyd Mayweather (Best Ever Award), Selma Hayek (Decade of Hotness Award) and Dwayne Johnson (Troop’s Choice Award).
