DANCING WITH THE STARS Season Premiere Sets New Ratings Record For /A\ With 2.1 Million Viewers

Last night, 2.1 million viewers made the most star-studded season premiere of DANCING WITH THE STARS yet a new benchmark for /A\. Peaking at 2.7 million viewers, the episode set a new ratings record for the network, besting previous record-holder AMERICA’S GOT TALENT (1.44 million/ Sept. 16, 2009). Hosted by Tom Bergeron and new co-host, Brooke Burke, the Season 10 premiere was the #1 program of the night on Canadian television. In the key Adult 18-49 and 25-54 demos the premiere delivered 832,000 and 816,000 viewers respectively.

With a fresh new look and a celebrity cast bursting with personality, DANCING WITH THE STARS out-danced the competition, including HOUSE (FOX/Global, 1.1 million) at 8 pm and 24 (FOX/Global, 1.3 million) at 9 pm. The episode also provided a strong lead-in for CASTLE (ABC/ /A\, 669,000), which was #2 at 10 p.m. behind CSI: MIAMI (CBS/CTV, 1.9 million). DANCING WITH THE STARS delivered more than twice as many viewers when it last premiered on /A\ (March 9, 2009).

In Week 2, all of the couples return to dance their second routines in a two-hour show, Monday, March 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on /A\.The couple with the lowest combined judges’ scores and public votes for both performances will be sent home on the one-hour DANCING WITH THE STARS results show Tuesday, March 30 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on /A\ (visit Atv.ca to confirm local broadcast times).
