Teletoon Unveils Fall Programming Highlights
Fall 2008 on TELETOON brings 11 brand new series to televisions with five new shows premiering during daytime and five top series returning to the schedule with new episodes. Daytime on TELETOON is set to sling new webs, fight new aliens and create new delicious dishes with shows including the gastronomic comedy, Chowder, The Spectacular Spider-Man and the TELETOON Original Production, World of Quest. This fall also sees the premiere of the highest rated original series premiere on Cartoon Network, Ben 10: Alien Force, as part of a two day special Ben10 back to school event on August 30 and September 6. Also part of the Ben 10 event TELETOON broadcasts the Canadian premiere of the live action Ben 10 movie, Ben 10: Race Against Time, a movie that earned Cartoon Network more viewers than any other programme in the channelâs history.
TELETOON fans can catch the new daytime shows before their September premiere as TELETOON gives viewers a special sneak-peek of the new shows on air and on teletoon.com throughout August. Flash Forward, each Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 am ET/PT, sees a preview episode of each new daytime show air on TELETOON while on teletoon.com a selection of the sneak peek episodes will be available for streaming for one week after their Flash Forward air date.

Ben 10: Alien Force begins the next chapter for Ben 10, one of the top rated shows on TELETOON, and was the highest rated original series premiere on Cartoon Network. When a now 15-year-old Ben Tennyson chooses to once again put on the OMNITRIX he discovers that it has reconfigured his DNA and can now transform him into 10 brand new aliens. Joined by his super-powered cousin Gwen and his equally powerful former enemy Kevin Levin, Ben is on a mission to find his missing Grandpa Max. In order to save his grandfather, Ben must defeat the evil DNALIENS, a powerful alien race intent on destroying the galaxy, starting with planet Earth. Ben 10: Alien Force premieres on TELETOON as part of the Ben 10 back to school event, featuring two days full of Ben 10 shows and movies on Saturday, August 30 and September 6.

A new original series from Cartoon Network and created by C. H. Greenblatt (SpongeBob SquarePants), Chowder is a bright and food-filled comedy that follows a young apprentice who spends his days learning from a magical chef. Along with creating fantastical dishes from the fresh and weird ingredients found at the local market, Chowder runs errands, tries to keep things tidy in the kitchen and stay on the good side of the scatterbrained yet brilliant chef Mung Daal and his bossy wife Truffles.

Still upset over the death of his uncle Ben, Peter comes face to face with villians including the Lizard, Green Goblin, Kingpin, and Venom. As he does his best to manage the many pressures of high school with those of becoming a supernatural crime-fighter, Peter learns about love, family, friendship, and what it takes to balance great power with great responsibility.

Out of Jimmy’s Head is the series extension of the hit movie Re-Animated which premiered on TELETOON in Spring 2008. A mix of animation and live-action, the comedy focuses on Jimmy Roberts and how he copes with everyday life surrounded by a cartoon entourage that only he can see. Following an accident, Jimmy undergoes an emergency brain transplant with a famous cartoonist and now can see all of the cartoonistâs creations in the real world. The chaos that comes from having cartoon characters involved in his life makes being normal nearly impossible.

A TELETOON Original Production with Cookie Jar Entertainment and Kids WB!, World of Quest is an action comedy that follows the young and spoiled Prince Nestor on a mission to save his parents from the evil Lord Spite. To keep him safe, Nestor has enlisted the protection of the muscled but reluctant Quest. Quest has no desire to protect the prince and doesnât care what happens to the kingdom, and really would prefer to just be left alone. Unfortunately he is under the power of a magic spell which forces him to come to the Princeâs aid when he is in trouble – which is often. World of Quest is based on the successful online comic created by Jason T. Kruse.

The fur will fly as seven strangers locked in a mansion, in the middle of a Saskatchewan wheat-field, debase themselves and attempt to destroy one another in order to win their luxurious abode and maybe even become famous. Lifeâs a Zoo is filled with the usual reality TV suspects: the vain, the villainous, the meek and the manic, in this case however the participants just happen to be animals. They may look cute and cuddly but donât be fooled, the ability for the characters to manipulate and maneuver is truly human. Each episode of Lifeâs a Zoo features a fresh music video from one of Canadaâs hottest bands including Spiral Beach, The Tin Bangs and Jason Kent. Code Monkeys is a nostalgic look at early video games and the games development industry and is animated using a colour palette and sound effects reminiscent of 8 and 16-bit video games.
Father of the Pride

Produced by DreamWorks Animation, Father of the Pride is a CGI sitcom following the lives of a family of white lions living in Las Vegas. Larry (John Goodman), the father of the family works as Siegfried & Roy performing lion, a far cry from is laid back, no nonsense background. Larry isnât exactly cut out for show business and although he tries hard he endures daily taunting from his father-in-law Sarmoti (Carl Reiner), an aging show lion who disapproves of Larryâs disregard of Rat-Pack style Vegas values.
Teletoon unveils fall programming highlights
Starting Monday, August 29, 2005, twenty-eight (28) new shows, or returning series with new episodes, are coming to the network, including 13 brand new series, 9 of which are TELETOON Original Productions (including 2 one-hour specials); and 15 returning series with new episodes (3 are from Canadian producers) are finding their way back to the network.
Launching Monday August 29th, TELETOON invites all its kid viewers to its best fall season yet. With a total of 9 new kid titles (four TELETOON Original Production series, two TELETOON Original Production specials and three acquisitions), and eight returning series with new episodes, it promises to be a fantastic year for TELETOON, with a variety of programming that will entertain its many different viewers and offer them an âunrealâ way to perk up their post-summer blues.âThis fall, TELETOON is giving our kid viewers the best of animation, from our delightful TELETOON Original Productions to our popular acquisitions,â says Carole Bonneau, Vice-President, Programming, TELETOON. âWe are proud that TELETOON continues to play a significant role in supporting the creation, development, and production of Canadian programs, while acquiring some of the best series from outside of Canada, to give our viewers a variety of programming that will create a perfect animation destination.â
New This Fall
This Fall, TELETOON viewers will get a little bit of everything from teenage clones, to supercool spies, to an 11-year-old girl with magical powers.
TheTELETOON Original Production, CarlÂČ (Carl Squared), which makes its World Premiere on Sunday, August 7th, at 7pm as a sneak peek presentation and airs regularly on Saturdays and Sundays at 7pm, beginning Saturday, September 3rd, is about 14-year old Carl Crashman, a slacker teen, who possesses his own secret clone. When Carl, a dude with a âtude, who accidentally orders his own clone online, is sent his physical duplicate â a clone known as C2, his life completely changes. CarlÂČ is produced by Portfolio Entertainment Inc.
Delilah & Juliusfollows the thrilling adventures of Delilah and Julius, two stylish well-trained teen spies as they travel the globe stopping covert plots for world domination and taking down sinister villains using their wits and skills. This TELETOON Original Production makes its World Premiere as a sneak peek presentation on Sunday, August 14th at 7pm and airs regularly weekends at 4pm, beginning Saturday, September 3rd, catch Delilah & Julius saving the world, one crime at a time. Delilah & Julius is a co-production between DECODE Entertainment and Collideascope Animation Studios. The Life & Times of Juniper Lee, makes its Canadian premiere as a sneak peek presentation on Sunday, August 21st at 7pm and airs regularly Sundays at 5pm beginning Sunday, September 4th. Juniper âJuneâ Lee, is a seemingly normal 11-year-old Asian-American girl, who is the Xuan Ze (pronounced Te-zuan-ze and means âthe Protectorâ) and possesses magical powers to protect the world from unruly creatures like super-strong leprechauns and gnomes, a family honour and burden that has been passed down for generations.
TELETOON gets a âpassion for fashionâ this fall with the launch ofBratz. Based on the hugely popular collection of dolls, Bratz is filled with comedy, adventure, fun and lots of cutting-edge style and cool music. Bratz premieres on Sunday, September 4th at 5:30pm, and airs regularly Sundays at 5:30pm.
Alien Racersjoins KAPOW!, TELETOONâS all-action programming block this fall, with action excitement, strong characters and a fascinating subplot of universe-shaking proportions. Based on the popular action figures the series premieres as a special 90-minute KAPOW! presentation on Sunday, November 6th, 10pm and airs regularly weekends at 11:30 am. Premiering in November, Planet Sketch, a TELETOON Original Production, brings to life the animation of the master-minds at Aardman Animation in this UK/Canada co-production. Planet Sketch consists of characters in a rapid-fire high-energy format which will grab the attention and tickle the funny bone of its young audience. Planet Sketch is a co-production of Aardman Animation and DECODE Entertainment.
For the younger set, TELETOON offersGerald McBoing Boing; which premiers Monday, August 29th at 3pm and airs regularly weekdays at 3pm. Gerald McBoing Boing is a TELETOON Original Production and is based on the book by Ted Geisel, the creator, who came to be known as Dr Seuss, about a six-year-old boy who doesnât speak but uses sound to communicate instead. 6TEEN,the TELETOON Original Production series launched in November 2004, is back with more laughs, and a special one-hour presentation this fall. Catch this group of six best friends as they try to make it through their first part-time jobs and life as teens, in new episodes premiering Sunday, October 9th, at 6pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 7pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on Sundays at 6pm. Launching the new season is the special Dude of the Living Dead, premiering Saturday, October 1st at 4pm, with an encore presentation on Sunday, October 2nd at 6pm. When The Galleria Mall is overtaken by the undead as a deadly virus hits, turning everyone into flesh biting zombies, will the gang, used to pushy customers and annoying bosses, be able to save their hangout, and themselves? 6TEEN is produced by Nelvana Limited.
Kids unite onTELETOON, as five eager 10-year-olds join forces against adulthood on behalf of children everywhere, and fight for the right to enjoy all the fun things in life. TELETOON presents Season III of Codename: Kids Next Door starting Wednesday, August 31st at 5:30 pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 5:30pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 7:30am.
Courage the Cowardly Dog,the animated series about a fuschia dog named Courage and his owners Muriel, a kindly old woman, and Eustace, a mean and nasty old farmer, living in a house in the town of âNowhereâ, returns to TELETOON in season IV, premiering Saturday, November 5th at 1:30pm, the series airs regularly on the weekends at 1:30pm. TELETOON presents new blundering adventures of an unlikely hero who somehow always manages to come out on top, as Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century reports back to duty, this fall, premiering Wednesday August 31st at 4:30pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 4:30pm with a new comedyadventure episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 8:30am.
Fosterâs Home for Imaginary Friends, is an animated comedy about friendship, adventure and fun among a motley crew of humans and imaginary friends who live together in an orphanage. TELETOON launched the series in March 2005, and is presenting new episodes this fall, starting Wednesday August 31st at 6pm (ET/PT). The series airs regularly weekdays at 6pm with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 9am. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, makes its Canadian premiere as a sneak peek presentation on August 28, at 7pm; starting September 1st, the series airs regularly Thursdays and Fridays at 8:30pm. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy centers on two young kids, happy-golucky, dumb-as-a-stump Billy, and cynical, deadpan Mandy, who become best friends with the Grim Reaper after beating him in an otherworldly limbo contest.
KAPOW! returns this season with new episodes ofTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles premiering Saturday, September 3rd, starting at 11am. TMNT airs regularly weekends at 11am, and Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30pm. Catch other KAPOW! action series on weekends including The Batman (10am), MEGAS XLR (10:30am) and MEGAMAN AXCESS (11:30 am). The globe-trotting, mystery-solving, Great Dane, is back with season III of Whatâs New Scooby Doo?, starting Wednesday, August 31st at 5pm. The series airs regularly weekdays at 5pm, with a new episode scheduled every Wednesday; and on the weekends at 8am. Based on Louis Sacharâs best selling book series, the TELETOON Original Production one-hour special, Wayside features teetering tales and quirky characters from the thirtieth floor of towering Wayside School, in a Nelvana production scheduled to air this November. Wayside, features the voice talent of Kathy Najimy (King of the Hill, Veronica Mars), and Canadian actor Michael Cera (Arrested Development) with Canadian pop-star Sky Sweetnam, performing the theme song to the special. Wayside is produced by Nelvana Limited.
