Corus Entertainment’s Movie Central (Western Canada) and Astral Media’s The Movie Network (Eastern Canada) take aim this October with Showtime’s new six-part reality series Lock ‘N Load. Without a political perspective or agenda, the people and stories behind America’s gun culture are candid and uncensored when hidden cameras capture perspective gun owners in this half-hour series which premieres Wednesday, October 21 at 10 p.m. PT on Movie Central and 11 p.m. ET on The Movie Network.
Lock ‘N Load offers viewers a fly on the wall experience at “The Shootist” gun store in Englewood, Colorado. In the heart of rural America surrounded by the Rocky Mountains and abundant wildlife, Salesman Josh T. Ryan is always in full-on pitch mode and the steady stream of customers never stops. Wielding his patented quick-draw humour and inherent likeability in each exchange, Ryan makes big-ticket deals over the blasts echoing from the live firing range in the basement of the store.
With every gun sold by this expert gunslinger at the family-owned store, there’s a fascinating story and a intriguing buyer to tell it to him: the new parent who wants to protect his family; the teenager who’s an expert hunter; the 30-something woman who feels a little more at ease with a revolver in her purse and the avid collector who simply has a fascination with guns of all kinds. All the sales and firing range testing is done before hidden cameras which will only be revealed after the transaction is completed in order to ensure a particularly candid and compelling point of view.
Episodes of Lock ‘N Load will be simulcast on Movie Central and The Movie Network’s High Definition channels and all subsequent episodes will also be available on Movie Central On Demand and The Movie Network OnDemand following their network premieres.
