Seven Remain as Sebastian Pigott Eliminated from Canadian Idol; Tom Jones to Mentor and Perform Next Week Programming Highlights / CTV Posted by RAD on Jul 29, 2008 - 05:48 PM Toronto’s Sebastian Pigott is the latest competitor to be eliminated from Canadian Idol, it was revealed live on CTV tonight. The 25-year-old singer, actor and writer goes home after landing in the Bottom Three for the third week in a row. Seven singers remain to perform in next week’s “U.K. Hits” episode, featuring previously confirmed guest star Tom Jones. The superstar will mentor the Top 7 for the Performance Episode airing Monday, August 4 at 9 p.m. ET and then perform live on the Canadian Idol stage the following night, Tuesday, August 5 at 8 p.m. ET. After singing and playing harmonica to his version of Little Richard’s “Lucille” for last night’s “Unplugged” episode, Pigott received the fewest of 2.3 million votes cast. Pigott and his brother Oliver, 27, made Canadian Idol history when they became the first siblings to make it into the Top 24. Oliver was eliminated during Top 16 week. Fellow Torontonian Mookie Morris, 18, made his second trip to the Bottom Three while Newfoundland’s Mark Day, 20, was one of the three competitors with the fewest votes for the first time. Tonight’s episode featured a performance by former Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, who performed “Love Remains the Same” from his first solo album WANDERlust. The new Universal Music Canada release has already hit the Top Ten on the iTunes Rock Chart. The Canadian Idol Top 7 performing “U.K. Hits” next week are: 1.
