| bpm:tv Unveils Fall 2008 Schedule and Programming Highlights |

For television viewers who may assume that digital channel bpm:tv is exclusively a “music video jukebox”, pandering to a mass audience of beat-driven dance hit enthusiasts, Fall 2008 will reinforce the channel’s position as Canada’s foremost purveyor of worldwide dance culture.
“We still play dance music videos that are not aired on any other television outlet; however we’ve seen more and more evidence that there is a real void and interest in programming that spotlights different dance forms and genres, as well as the cultures that originate and enjoy them,” according to Head of Programming Rosemary Fusca, “I read our viewers’ emails, and the response to documentaries like American Bellydancer and bpm Spotlight: African Footprint convey audience interest in the history and cultural implications of dance”.
Among new programs that explore a variety of international dance cultures are:
· Dance Files, half-hour docu-magazines each profiling a different genre of dance.
· French Connection, with Joanne Vrakas presenting French language dance videos from Canada, France and around the world.
· World class DJ Dan Desnoyers LIVE at Pacha Club in Egypt and Ibiza
Other programs include The Top 100 Gay Anthems, the sixth annual Ultra Music Festival in Miami, It’s All About Dancing about Jamaican dancehall culture, and one of the planet’s most popular DJ’s Tiesto in Concert at a soccer stadium in the Netherlands. bpm:tv Presents will continue to visit large-scale events like the Black & Blue Festival in Montreal and the Winter Music Conference in Miami; bpm Spotlight presents another season of profiles on artists like Moby and Wyclef Jean.
Returning favourites to bpm:tv’s programming schedule include Foreign Flo, Electronica, Wild Life, Back @ Ya, Club Fashion, The Hot 20 Dance Chart and The Mixdown with Montreal music industry magnate MC Mario.
bpm:tv is Canada’s first and only dance channel, available from most Canadian television provider services. The new fall season launches on September 1st, 2008. According to the Spring 2008 BBM RTS survey, the channel ranks #1 among digital channels in Adults 25-34 and Females 25-34. It is also #2 in Men 18-24 and ranked third in Adults 18-24.
Hot 20 Dance Chart
Every weeknight, Louie La Vella counts down the current top twenty songs driving dance floors around the world. Be “in the know” with fresh breaking new videos and rare gems that won’t air anywhere else in Canada. Hot 20 Dance Chart is the most comprehensive, up-to-date, and well-informed dance video countdown show on the air! Monday – Friday @ 5pm ET.
Hot 20 Dance Recall
On weekends, Louie returns to look back at the most popular dance tracks from a year in the 80’s or 90’s, counting them down in order. This ninety minute time machine not only recounts the hits, but reminisces about the news, events, fashions and stars that everyone thought were “all that hot”, all those years ago. Fridays @ 8pm ET; Saturdays & Sundays @ 5pm ET.
Dance Recall
This original bpm:tv favourite comes back for its fifth season. Relive those days when music videos were young(er): Prince, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, C&C Music Factory and some you may have forgotten about. The very best dance tunes from the past come back to life, Mondays & Thursdays @ 6pm ET.
Back @ Ya
The audience is taking over the television channel, but we’re okay with that! Viewers send requests, dedications, shout outs and even their most personal messages and love confessions to bpm:tv, and Canada’s most gorgeous “It Girl”, professional dancer Jorie Brown, rolls them Back @ Ya, every night at 7pm ET.
Electronica
Miss Raquel takes you into the mesmerizing world of electronic music, with both the most popular and rarest tracks from the early roots to most current, the underground mixes and mainstream hits that make up the electronic scene, Tuesdays and Fridays @ 6pm ET; Wednesdays @ 8pm ET & Saturdays @ 9pm ET.
Remixed, Remade, Remodeled
Jordan James does Bon Jovi? Nova Space gives Bryan Adams the treatment? Janet Jackson takes a piece of Herbie Hancock? See what happens when you take a juggernaut hit from another generation, and pump it with new dance mixes. Watch the original and then see what today’s most brilliant musical innovators do with the same song. Tuesdays & Saturdays @ 8pm ET.
Cheez Viz
Occasionally that rare artist comes along who elevates cheesiness to an art form…literally. Big stars, “one-hit-wonders” and “never-heard-from-agains” have one thing in common, videos that make you say “What were they thinking?”. They all come back to haunt us and make us howl on Cheez Viz, Mondays & Wednesdays @ 9pm ET.
Club Fashion
What are the sexy cool trendsetters wearing…(or not wearing)? Club Fashion follows beautiful people from their dressing rooms to fashion show runways in Amsterdam, New York, Dubai, LA, London, Miami and Montreal. bpm:tv looks for the biggest, the best, the coolest, the hottest. We cover a different “Ultimate” each week: Breakups, Dance Crazes, Club Anthems, Love Songs, Beach Babes, Sports Anthems, Legs, you name it. We select an “Ultimate” category; then we load up ninety minutes of great music videos to illustrate our point! Who knew we could have this much musical fun and think at the same? Housemix
House music fans unite in front of their televisions every week, when DJ Marky D lays down a solid two-hour non-stop mix that rocks your own house every Sunday @ 10pm ET.
Dance Files

Foreign Flo
From dance clubs in Denmark to raves in Russia, discover the intensity and diversity of other countries and cultures through the uniquely cool sexiness and spirit of their indigenous modern music and dance.
