We’re live with the latest information from the streets of Toronto and beyond. Designed for viewers who want the latest information quickly, both on-air and online, “CityNews at Five” brings you the headlines and the stories that affect you and your family in two half-hour blocks. At 5:00pm, Anchors Dwight Drummond and Merella Fernandez have the day's top stories, coverage of the commute home with our eyes of Toronto and meteorologist Michael Kuss with Toronto's most accurate forecast. At 5:30pm, join Mark Dailey for your quick hit of the day’s top stories and Kathryn Humphreys with sports ‘City’ style. When you don’t have an hour to spare, give us half an hour and we’ll give you all you need!

Bios
Dwight Drummond, Anchor “CityNews at Five”
Growing up in Toronto's infamous Jane and Finch Corridor, Dwight became frustrated with how his community was covered by the media. He believed his perspective could make a difference. When he saw "CityNews" covering his high school basketball games at Runnymede Collegiate, he decided Citytv was where he wanted to work. After graduating from Ryerson University’s Radio and Television Arts Program in 1989, he joined Citytv as a security guard on "Electric Circus". Since then, he has worked as a Teleprompter Operator, Floor Director, Studio Cameraperson, Deputy Chief on the Assignment Desk and Videographer. He was promoted to Crime Specialist in 2000. Dwight leaves his post at “CityNews at Noon” to anchor “CityNews at Five”.
Merella Fernandez, Anchor, “CityNews at Five”
A graduate of Carleton University’s Journalism program, Merella began her career in television at CTV answering phones. It wasn't long before she was writing for both CTV News and Canada AM. Deciding it was time for a change, she made the move over to Citytv where she was hired as a writer in 1998. Soon Merella was demonstrating her journalistic talents both behind the camera and in front, as a reporter and anchor for "CityNews Weekend" before taking the reins as anchor on “CityNews at Five”.
Mark Dailey, Anchor, “CityNews at Five”
In 1968, Mark Dailey began his career as a news reporter in Ohio. After a quick stop in Detroit, Mark joined CHUM radio in 1974, before joining "CityNews" in 1979. Mark served as an assignment editor and producer before taking the reigns of the Crime Beat for more than ten years. He’ll continue as anchor "CityNews Tonight" (a role he has held for a decade) in addition to his new duties on “CityNews at Five”.
Tune-in to “CityNews at Five”, Toronto’s first and only newscast live at 5:00pm, followed by “CityNews at Six” with Anchors Gord Martineau and Anne Mroczkowski.
