The Cottage Life Podcast returns today for a second season to celebrate another summer by the lake. The nine episode series gives listeners the chance to unwind on their long drive as they prepare for an excitement-filled weekend at the cottage. Join host Michelle Kelly, editor of Cottage Life magazine, for a relaxing weekly dip into what matters most to cottagers, from entertaining and maintenance to wildlife and the environment. The Cottage Life Podcast premieres on Wednesday, June 30. New episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays. The Cottage Life Podcast is now available on all podcast platforms and cottagelife.com/podcast.
Building on the success of Season 1, with more than 60,000 downloads to date, the new season of the Cottage Life Podcast will give Canadians access to interviews with contributing Cottage Life writers from the magazine as well as stars from Cottage Life TV. Each episode will include an interview on a cottage-related topic, an essay from the almost-35-year history of the Cottage Life magazine, and a handy tip to help solve common cottage problems.
“Cottage season is a time to relax and unwind away from the city. The Cottage Life Podcast allows Canadians who share our passion for the great outdoors to have something new and exciting to listen to as they start their weekend,” says Michelle Kelly, Editor, Cottage Life magazine and host of the Cottage Life Podcast. “As a natural extension of Cottage Life magazine, the Cottage Life Podcast provides our audience with wonderful stories and tips for the cottage they can listen to anywhere.”
The first two episodes of the Cottage Life Podcast include:
-
Episode 1 – ALL ABOUT REAL ESTATE
Thinking of purchasing the dream getaway you’ve always wanted? In the Season 2 premiere episode, celebrated TV personality, real estate and renovation expert, Scott McGillivray discusses what to consider when buying a cottage—and the red flags to always avoid. Also, listeners learn about how being entirely and completely alone at the cottage is one of the great pleasures of cottage living in an essay by Paul Rush. On the not-so-glamorous side of cottage living, Michelle Kelly offers listeners a helpful tip on removing the skunk smell from your dog.
-
Episode 2 – WE’VE GONE TO THE BIRDS!
Jody Allair from Birds Canada teaches listeners all about common cottage birds and how to identify them by their call. Then, it’s a sound that no cottager wants to hear: drip, drip, drip from a leaky faucet in the middle of the night. Save your sleep and be fully rested for a fun-filled day of activities with our handy tip. For rainy-day inspiration, we share an essay about the joys of cottage puzzles.
