TSN CFL commentator John Wells is resting comfortably in a Montreal hospital after undergoing emergency surgery on Saturday, Aug. 3. Wells, 56, was in Montreal on Friday night for the TSN broadcast of the Alouettes/Eskimos game when he took ill. John’s family is with him in Montreal and his spirits are good.
“On behalf of the entire TSN team, we all wish John a very speedy recovery,” said Keith Pelley, President, TSN. “John has been a very special part of the TSN family since the network’s inception and we look forward to his return to our CFL broadcasts.”
TSN’s Rod Black and Glen Suitor will be filling in for John until his return.
