Highlights for Showcase.
Curb Your Enthusiasm (Network Television Premiere) – February 2003
Candid, unsparing and self-deprecating, HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm brings the off-kilter comic vision of Larry David – co-creator and co-executive producer of Seinfeld – to this critically acclaimed half-hour series. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, David (playing himself) and a cast of real and fictional characters are followed around Los Angeles by a ubiquitous camera that chronicles the private, often banal world of a (relatively) public man. Season one of Curb Your Enthusiasm features guest appearances by such celebrities as Jason Alexander, Ed Asner, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, Rob Reiner, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nora Dunn and Rita Wilson.
The Dice (Network Premiere) – January 2003
A six-part Showcase Original Series that follows a murder investigation in a small Canadian university town where the manipulative Glenn Taylor (Aidan Gillen, Queer As Folk – UK) uses the luck of the dice to determine the fate of those around him. This series also stars Martin Cummins, Gina McKee, Mark McKinney, Gary Farmer, Callum Keith Rennie and Fred Ward.
Foreign Objects (Network Premiere) – October 2002
This anthology series by the award-winning Ken Finkleman (creator of The Newsroom) follows a documentary filmmaker with commercial tastes who is forced to address more complex ideas. The series features a talented and internationally renowned ensemble cast including Colm Feore (The Insider, The Red Violin, Trudeau) and Arsinée Khanjian (Felicia’s Journey, The Sweet Hereafter).
