The witching hour is coming on Sunday, October 6 at 10pm ET/7pm PT when Lifetime® brews up the eagerly awaited premiere of the spellbinding new drama Witches of East End. Shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, the bewitching new series stars Emmy® Award winner Julia Ormond (Mad Men), Mädchen Amick (Damages), Jenna Dewan Tatum (Step Up) andRachel Boston (In Plain Sight) as a family of witches living in Long Island’s secluded seaside town of East Haven. The drama also stars Eric Winter (The Mentalist), Montreal’s Daniel DiTomasso (CSI),Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy) as well as Oscar® and Golden Globe® Award nominee Virginia Madsen (Sideways).
Inspired by Melissa de la Cruz’s bestselling novel, Witches of East End follows free-spirited artist Joanna Beauchamp (Julia Ormond) and her two adult daughters, wild-child Freya (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) and introverted Ingrid (Rachel Boston) whom, unbeknownst to them, are their family’s next generation of witches. When Freya becomes engaged to a wealthy playboy, Dash Gardiner (Eric Winter), a series of bizarre events begin to play out when she finds herself mysteriously attracted to Dash’s troubled brother Killian (Daniel DiTomasso). Mädchen Amick stars as Joanna’s mischievous witch sister Wendy who shows up in East Haven with a warning that could change the family’s fate forever, forcing Joanna to admit to her daughters that they are powerful and immortal witches.
Produced by Fox 21 (Homeland, Sons of Anarchy), Witches of East End is executive produced by Maggie Friedman (Eastwick), Jonathan Kaplan (Without a Trace, ER), Erwin Stoff (The Matrix) and Josh Reims (Brothers & Sisters). Kaplan will also serve as the producing director on the series. The pilot was directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls) and written by Friedman.
