It’s the deadliest job on Earth: crab fishing off the Alaska coast. Journey to the Bering Sea for the emotional premiere of the sixth season of Discovery Channel’s Emmy®-winning series, DEADLIEST CATCH. The seas are rougher, the stakes are higher and the intensity has never been stronger as the ultimate tough guys battle Arctic weather, brutal waves and a ticking clock for a chance at big money in this modern-day gold rush. Premiering Tuesday, April 20 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Discovery Channel, Season 6 tackles some of the roughest situations the captains and crews have ever had to face on the high seas.

This season’s 16 episodes delves further into the intimate world of these crab fisherman, from treacherous weather conditions to crew conflict – and the tragic death of beloved Captain Phil Harris on February 9, 2010. As Season 6 began filming in October 2009, Captain Phil will be featured throughout king crab season and into opilio season, with events unfolding as they occurred. Before the Season 6 adventure begins, Discovery Channel presents a DEADLIEST CATCH 5 Marathon on Sunday, April 18 from 6 a.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET/3 a.m. to 7 p.m. PT.
In Season 6, Captain Sig matches skills against his old rivals, Captain Phil, the Hillstrand brothers and Captain Keith. But there’s a fracture in the Bering Sea brotherhood. Old allies become mortal enemies when fishing turns personal. While some skippers rage against each other, another skipper fights a lone battle to stay alive. Two young deckhands are traded as an experiment in “attitude adjustment” conducted by their maniacal captains. Before the season is through, though, terrible tragedy will alter two young lives forever.
