Announced earlier today, Bell Media garnered 183 total nominations, comprising 114 television and digital nominations and 69 nominations for Bell Media-supported films. - Crave Original series and documentaries garner 33 nominations, an increase of more than 35% from last year. CANADA’S DRAG RACE has nine nominations and competes for its third consecutive win in the Best Reality/Competition Program or Series category; while WE’RE ALL GONNA DIE (EVEN JAY BARUCHEL) has five nominations, including Best Factual Series. LETTERKENNY receives seventh consecutive nod for Best Comedy Series, while debut season of official spin-off SHORESY nets two nominations. The 10-part sketch comedy series PILLOW TALK lands its first nomination while DAVE MERHEJE: I LOVE YOU HABIBI earns a nod for Best Variety or Entertainment Special.
- After leading television honours at the 2022 Canadian Screen Awards with eight award wins, Season 3 of hit CTV Original drama TRANSPLANT receives eight nominations this year, including Best Drama Series, Best Writing, Drama Series, and Best Lead Performer, Drama Series nominations for Hamza Haq and Laurence Leboeuf.
- The inaugural season of CTV Original comedy CHILDREN RUIN EVERYTHING receives six nominations, including Best Comedy Series, Best Writing, Comedy, and acting nods for Best Lead Performer, Comedy Series for Meaghan Rath and Best Supporting Performer, Comedy for Ennis Esmer.
- Canada’s most-watched summer series THE AMAZING RACE CANADA receives six nominations, including Best Reality/Competition Program or Series.
- CTV Life Channel’s MARY MAKES IT EASY garners three nominations, including a second consecutive nomination in the Best Lifestyle Program or Series category.
- Debut season of Discovery’s chainsaw carving competition series A CUT ABOVE scores three nominations including Best Reality/Competition Program or Series.
- The revived MuchMusic brand scores its first ever Canadian Screen Award nomination with a nod for Best Live Production, Social Media for INTIMATE & INTERACTIVE WITH TATE MCRAE.
- CTV Comedy’s ROAST BATTLE CANADA bests its debut season by one, with four nominations this year, including Best Sketch Comedy Program or Series.
- Bell Media Studios series and specials are nominated for 10 awards this year, with THE SOCIAL, THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW, and 1 QUEEN 5 QUEERS all garnering nominations in the Best Talk Program or Series category. Canada’s most-watched entertainment news program, ETALK, scores a nomination for Best Entertainment News Program or Series, and CTV YOUR MORNING earns a nod for Best Morning Show. Additionally, IMPACT & INFLUENCE: A TRUTH & RECONCILIATION DAY SPECIAL and THE ORIGINAL SANTA CLAUS PARADE earn one nomination each in the category of Best Variety or Entertainment Special. The six-episode docuseries THE MIGHTIEST receives a nomination for the prestigious Rob Stewart Award for Best Science or Nature Documentary Program or Series.
- TSN earns a total of 17 nominations for sports coverage, reporting, and feature programming, the most nominations of all sports broadcasters. The network’s coverage of the 2021 GREY CUP is recognized with three nods, including Best Live Sports Event and Best Direction, Live Sports Event. The 2022 IIHF Women’s World Championship and World Juniors each earn two nominations, including Best Sports Play-By-Play Announcer for Gord Miller and Best Sports Analyst for Cheryl Pounder. James Duthie (TSN FREE AGENT FRENZY) and Jay Onrait (SC WITH JAY ONRAIT) receive nominations for Best Sports Host; THE SHIFT’s Kayla Grey for Best Host, Web Program or Series; and Rick Westhead for Best Host or Interviewer, News or Information. The TSN Original features team secures all four nominations in the category of Best Sports Feature Segment.
- CTV News secures a total of 10 nominations, led by a total of four for W5, including Best News or Information Series, and Best Host or Interviewer, News or Information for host Avery Haines. CTV NATIONAL NEWS receives a nomination for Best National Newscast and Toronto’s CTV NEWS AT SIX earns two nods for Best Local Newscast and Best News Anchor, Local for co-hosts Nathan Downer and Michelle Dubé. The network’s CTV NEWS REPORTER’S NOTEBOOK: PAUL WORKMAN IN AFGHANISTAN special also receives two nods, including Best News or Information Program and the CTV NEWS SPECIAL: POPE FRANCIS IN CANADA ears a nod for Best Live News Special.
- Films supported by Bell Media receive 69 nominations including 14 nods for Clement Virgo’s Brother, coming to Crave later this year.
