A trio of television’s top women crime-fighters return to Super Channel, Canada’s only national English pay television network, on Wednesday, July 10 for the back-to-back premieres of Major Crimes season two and Rizzoli and Isles season four.
First at 9 p.m. ET, Mary McDonnell returns as Captain Sharon Raydor, head of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes division, when Major Crimes returns for a thrilling second season. The series also stars G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, Phillip P. Keene, Kearran Giovanni, Graham Patrick Martin, Jonathan Del Arco and Robert Gossett as Assistant Chief Russell Taylor.
As the second season opens, the team immediately dives into some of the most challenging and fascinating crimes yet, including the murder of a big-time film producer’s wife, an apparent murder-suicide and a high-speed car chase that leads to a triple homicide. Just as the squad seems to be adjusting to last year’s leadership change, however, Deputy District Attorney Emma Rios (new cast member Nadine Velazquez) arrives to challenge Raydor’s intentions and shake up the department. Torn between what is right morally and what the law commands, Raydor and her team are faced with more personal and professional struggles than ever as they continue to make deals and crack cases.
Then at 10 p.m. ET, Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander return for a fourth season as Boston’s top crime-solving duo, Rizzoli & Isles. Harmon is Jane Rizzoli, a tough-as-nails Boston police detective, and Alexander is Maura Isles, a smart, impeccably dressed medical examiner from a privileged background. Despite being complete opposites, the two women share an offbeat chemistry, an authentic and deep friendship and a unique working relationship that together, helps them to solve the most complex murder mysteries in the city of Boston. Rizzoli & Isles also stars Lorraine Bracco, Lee Thompson Young, Bruce McGill, Jordan Bridges and Brian Goodman.
In the fourth season premiere, a community parade turns deadly in a case that brings family tensions and politics to the forefront. Maura, who is dealing with her own family issues, is not quite herself. And a surprise visit from Lt. Col. Casey Jones (recurring guest star Chris Vance) reveals some shocking news.
Revisit the entire third season in two action-packed days with the Rizzoli & Isles Season 3 Marathon airing Saturday July 6 and Sunday, July 7 beginning at 11 a.m. ET.
