Critically Acclaimed Australian Series “Prosper” Makes Its Canadian Debut on Super Channel Fuse – Sunday, March 24

Super Channel is pleased to announce it has acquired the fast-paced Australian drama series Prosper (8X60) from Lionsgate Television. The gripping family drama will make its Canadian premiere exclusively on Super Channel Fuse on Sunday, March 24 at 9 p.m. ET, with each episode available to stream On Demand the following day.

Produced by Lingo Pictures, and commissioned by Lionsgate and Australia’s Stan, Prosper is set in the inner sanctum of one of the fastest-growing evangelical megachurches in the world, U Star, based in Sydney, Australia and run by the wealthy and powerful Quinn family. Poised on the precipice of a lucrative American expansion, the family is about to catapult into a new stratosphere of wealth and unchecked power. But behind closed doors, the Quinns are a family protecting shameful secrets while preaching a message of faith, love, and acceptance to their many thousand followers. Prosper studies a damaged family inextricably bound together while tearing themselves apart.

“On the heels of Prosper’s critically acclaimed Australian broadcast premiere last summer, we’re excited to bring this razor-sharp series to our subscribers,” said Kimberley Ball, Chief Content Officer, Super Channel. “We feel that Prosper will fill the void of past prime-time family dramas like Dallas and, most recently, Succession with a saga that fuses great dialogue and sibling rivalries to explore the consequences that occur when religion and capitalism collide.”

“I am pleased to announce our partnership with Super Channel to bring the captivating series Prosper to Canadian audiences. This collaboration exemplifies our commitment to delivering top-tier entertainment that will resonate with viewers,” said Susan Hummel, Lionsgate’s EVP & Managing Director, Canada and Head of Domestic Channels.

Prosper, which was this year’s biggest Australian summer original premiere for Stan, stars Richard Roxburgh (Elvis, Van Helsing) as the charismatic founder and pastor of U Star, “Cal Quinn,” and Rebecca Gibney (Halifax: Retribution, Back to the Rafters, Wanted) is his indomitable wife “Abi Quinn.”

Applauded by Variety for their “phenomenal performances,” Roxburgh and Gibney anchor the series alongside a stellar ensemble cast. There is plenty of sibling rivalry amongst Quinn’s children as they fight each other for power within the family business. “Dion,” played by Ewen Leslie (Peter Rabbit, Pieces of Her), is the loyal son from Cal’s first marriage who is following in his father’s footsteps; daughter “Issy,” played by Hayley McCarthy (Sylvie’s Love, The Originals), is the adored only daughter of the family and gifted singer-songwriter of U Star; and rebellious youngest son “Jed,” starring Jacob Collins-Levy (True History of the Kelly Gang, The Witcher: Blood Origin), wants no part his family’s unbridled greed.

The ensemble cast also includes Ming-Zhu Hii (La Brea, Peter Rabbit), Jordi Webber (Nomad, Power Rangers), Jacek Koman (Moulin Rouge!, Children of Men), Andrea Solonge (Class of ’07, Privileged), Brigid Zengeni (The Artful Dodger, Totally Completely Fine), and Alex Fitzalan (The Wilds, Slender Man).
