- In recognition of Bell Let’s Talk Day, Crave’s Mental Health Awareness Collection (available with both English and French programming) offers TV series and movies exploring issues related to mental illness, including HBO’s EUPHORIA, I KNOW THIS MUCH IS TRUE, and I MAY DESTROY YOU; Crave Original documentary RAT PARK; Canadian documentaries and films such as THE GRIZZLIES; and Bell Let’s Talk Day specials like AWARENESS, ACCEPTANCE & ACTION, SANTÉ MENTALE: UNE NOTE À LA FOIS, and PLUS FORTS ENSEMBLES.
- On Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. ET, CTV’s IN THIS TOGETHER: A BELL LET’S TALK DAY SPECIAL joins Crave’s Mental Health Awareness collection. Hosted by ETALK’s Tyrone Edwards and THE SOCIAL’s Melissa Grelo, the special, which airs as part of the annual Bell Let’s Talk Day initiative, features discussions with Canadians who share their individual mental health journey through a year that posed unique challenges across the country. From essential workers who risked their lives for their communities, to advocates continuing the fight for racial equality, the special is a reminder that the country must work together to bring about long-lasting, sustainable change to mental health awareness and support. Celebrities including Alanis Morissette, Jabari Greer, Malin Ackerman, Mayim Bialik, Tyler Stewart, and others also join in to raise mental health awareness.
- The four-episode British miniseries THE SISTER premieres Friday, Jan. 29 at 9 p.m. ET, with the first two episodes. Created by Neil Cross (LUTHER), the series follows Nathan (Russell Tovey, BEING HUMAN) after almost a decade into his new devoted married life when his world is rocked to the core after Bob (Bertie Carvel, Les Misérables), an unwelcome face from the past, turns up on his doorstep with shocking news, triggering a series of catastrophic decisions. The series also stars Amrita Acharia (GAME OF THRONES) and Nina Toussaint-White (BODYGUARD). The final two episodes of THE SISTER premiere Friday, Feb. 5 at 9 p.m. ET.
- HBO’s documentary-news series AXIOS returns for Season 4 Sunday, Jan. 31, at 6 p.m. ET, with episodes available and on-demand the following morning. AXIOS fuses together the “Smart Brevity” of Axios’ digital reporting with cinematic, documentary storytelling. Every episode covers the most consequential and future-shaping topics and collisions across business, tech, media, politics, and science. Past interviews have included President Donald Trump, Senior Adviser to the President Jared Kushner, President of Iraq Barham Salih, Alphabet Inc. and Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, GM CEO Mary Barra, Microsoft Co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates, Apple CEO Tim Cook, President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris. AXIOS follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes Sundays at 6 p.m. ET and on-demand the following morning.
- From Emmy-winning producers Mark and Jay Duplass (HBO’s ROOM 104 and TOGETHERNESS), HBO’s THE LADY AND THE DALE premieres Sunday, Jan. 31 with two, back-to-back episodes, beginning at 9 p.m. ET. The four-part docuseries follows the story of Elizabeth Carmichael, who rose to prominence when she released a fuel-efficient, three-wheeled vehicle during the 1970s gas crisis. As she wins over major carmakers and investors, a web of mystery unfolds regarding the car’s technology and Carmichael’s surprising past. A portrait of an extraordinary entrepreneur’s rise and eventual fall, the series explores a one-of-a-kind story of fraud, family, and identity. THE LADY AND THE DALE follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Sundays at 9 p.m. ET.
- SHOWTIME’s DESUS & MERO, the network’s first-ever late-night talk show, returns for Season 3 on January 31 at 11 p.m. ET, with new episodes dropping on Sunday and Thursday nights at 11 p.m. ET. Each episode of DESUS & MERO features co-hosts Desus Nice and The Kid Mero giving their take on the day’s hot topics and chatting with guests at the intersection of pop culture, sports, music, politics, and more. Past guests include President Barack Obama, President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Missy Elliott, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Beastie Boys, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, and David Letterman.
- To commemorate Black History Month, Crave highlights Black creators, talent, and cultural figures through a number of special collections launching Monday, Feb. 1, including: TV Series #ForTheCulture (THE FRESH PRINCE OF BEL-AIR, INSECURE, THE CHI, POWER, WATCHMEN, LOVECRAFT COUNTRY, and more); Black Movies Matter (42, HARRIET, JUST MERCY, AND THE PHOTOGRAPH); Docs & Historical Drama (40 YEARS A PRISONER, LENNOX LEWIS: THE UNTOLD STORY, and TIGER); and Black Directors Collections featuring the work of Spike Lee and Tyler Perry. Other notable premieres during Black History Month include LENNOX LEWIS: THE UNTOLD STORY, BLACK ART: IN THE ABSENCE OF LIGHT, and MISS JUNETEENTH.
- The new Crave Original Documentary LENNOX LEWIS: THE UNTOLD STORY begins streaming on Crave Monday, Feb. 1. The film takes an inside look at the career of the Canadian raised professional boxer, Lennox Lewis, from his rough upbringing to the Olympics, and the professional ranks where he established himself as one of the greats in the history of the sport. Narrated by Dr. Dre, and utilizing never before seen footage from Lennox Lewis’ personal archives, the film highlights some of HBO’s greatest fight footage, giving viewers a glimpse behind the scenes into what makes a true champion.
- HBO’s THE INVESTIGATION premieres Monday, Feb. 1 at 10 p.m. ET. The new six-part Scandinavian limited drama series is based on the real-life investigation into the 2017 murder of young Swedish journalist Kim Wall, which made headlines around the world as “the submarine case.” The drama follows the team of investigators and divers who worked tirelessly for six months in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles to gather evidence and bring justice for Wall’s family. Søren Malling (A Hijacking) leads the cast as Jens Møller, the Head of Homicide for the Copenhagen Police, alongside Pilou Asbæk (GAME OF THRONES) as the prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen. Pernilla August (Star Wars) and Rolf Lassgård (THE HUNTERS) star as Kim Wall’s parents, Ingrid and Joachim Wall. THE INVESTIGATION follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes Mondays at 10 p.m. ET.
- The new HBO documentary FAKE FAMOUS premieres Tuesday, Feb. 2 at 9 p.m. ET. From first-time director and veteran journalist Nick Bilton, the film explores the industry of social media influencers through an innovative social experiment. The film’s journey into this world is driven by the casting of three people in Los Angeles who all have relatively small social followings and the attempt to grow them into famous influencers. By purchasing fake followers and an army of bots to “engage” with their social media, the newly made “influencers” discover both the wonders and costs of this unlikely, immersive lifestyle.
