Dancing With the Stars is back and better than ever on CTV. As announced earlier today, an expanded lineup of new celebrities will hip-twist and sashay for the best dance team crown in the third season of the blockbuster reality series. Dancing With the Stars returns Tuesdays at 8 p.m. beginning September 12 with a special two-hour premiere followed by the half-hour results show on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET beginning Sept. 13 on CTV (check local listings).
This year’s all-star lineup of participants includes infamous talk show host Jerry Springer, actress Vivica A. Fox (Missing), MSNBC political talk show host Tucker Carlson, actor Joseph Lawrence (Blossom), NFL running back Emmett Smith, actor Harry Hamlin (Veronica Mars), actor Mario Lopez (Saved By the Bell, Bold and the Beautiful), pop singer Willa Ford, Monique Coleman (High School Musical), country musician Sara Evans and model/actress Shanna Moakler (Meet the Barkers).
Last season, Drew Lachey (98 Degrees) and his partner Cheryl Burke beat WWE wrestler Stacy Keibler and Super Bowl legend Jerry Rice to take home the title of best dancer. Lachey and Burke dominated the dance floor, garnering 60 per cent of the vote to win the title and walk away as the winners.
Hosted by Tom Bergeron, Season 3 of Dancing with the Stars boasts an expanded lineup with even more celebrities than before. The pairs perform choreographed dance routines which are judged by a panel of dance experts including former dancers Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and dancer/choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba. The viewing public also gets to weigh in by phoning in or voting online for their favorite performers. The scores are combined and the outcome is announced during a results show televised the following evening, with one couple being eliminated each week.
