Teletoon today announced the launch of the French language TÉLÉTOON Rétro on Bell TV, bringing the total number of subscribers to TÉLÉTOON Rétro to over 1.3 million. Combined, the French and English language TELETOON Retro channels will be available to over 6.5 million subscribers.

Now available on channel 186 on Bell TV, the channel is offered at no additional cost for Bell TV subscribers in Quebec and for subscribers with the French Networks package throughout the rest of Canada. TÉLÉTOON Rétro broadcasts timeless classics such as Bugs Bunny et Tweety (The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show), Inspecteur Gadget (Inspector Gadget) and Tom et Jerry (The Tom & Jerry Show). Since its launch in September 2008, the channel has seen success in the French market becoming, the digital specialty channel with the largest share of viewing among Quebec adults aged 25-54 with children*.

The Bell TV launch is accompanied by a TÉLÉTOON Rétro Montreal street stunt which will see props from recognizable and beloved cartoons transplanted to the real world. An ACME anvil along with Bugs Bunny carrots and lawn signs informing passersby that it is “Wabbit Season” will appear in Montreal as part of an awareness campaign that has already launched in Toronto and Vancouver. The street props push to specially created microsites where visitors can learn more about TELETOON Retro and the programming offered on the channel.
