REMEMBRANCE DAY COLLECTION:
- PASSCHENDAELE (Drama, 2008, directed by Paul Gross) – Begins streaming Friday, November 8
PASSCHENDAELE is set during the height of the First World War and tells the story of Sergeant Michael Dunne (Paul Gross, Alias Grace, Due South), a soldier who is brutally wounded in France and returns to Calgary emotionally and physically scarred. While in the military hospital in Calgary, he meets Sarah (Caroline Dhavernas, Wonderfalls, Hannibal), a mysterious and attractive nurse with whom he develops a passionate love. When Sarah’s younger asthmatic brother David (Joe Dinicol, Arrow, Betas) signs up to fight in Europe, Michael feels compelled to return to Europe to protect him. Michael and David, like thousands of Canadians, are sent to fight in the third battle of Ypres, a battle against impossible odds, commonly known as “Passchendaele.”
- HYENA ROAD (Drama, 2015, directed by Paul Gross) – Begins streaming Friday, November 8
HYENA ROAD plunges deep to the heart of the Afghanistan war zone. Three different men, three different worlds, three different wars – all stand at the intersection of modern warfare – a murky world of fluid morality where all is not as it seems.

- CANADA’S MUSIC HALL OF FAME SPECIAL (1×60, CBC Music), Premieres Saturday, November 2
Watch as legendary Canadian artists Andy Kim, Bobby Curtola, Chilliwack and Cowboy Junkies are inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at Calgary’s National Music Centre. The program will feature performances by the inductees and a tribute to Bobby Curtola by Ron Sexsmith. Hosted by Julie Nesrallah, the ceremony also features appearances by presenters Andy Maize, Ed Robertson, Randy Bachman, and more.
- CBC MUSIC PRESENTS (15×30, CBC Music) – Premieres Friday, November 15

- SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE GALA – Streaming Monday, November 18
Juno Award winning singer-songwriter, broadcaster, actress and author, Jann Arden will host the 2019 SCOTIABANK GILLER PRIZE GALA, streaming live at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT) on November 18. The 26th edition of the Scotiabank Giller Prize, celebrating Canadian writers, will announce a winner from a shortlist consisting of: David Bezmozgis for Immigrant City; Megan Gail Coles for Small Game Hunting at the Local Coward Gun Club; Michael Crummey for The Innocents; Alix Ohlin for Dual Citizens; Steven Price for Lampedusa; and Ian Williams for Reproduction. This year’s jury is comprised of Canadian authors Donna Bailey Nurse, Randy Boyagoda (jury chair) and Canadian playwright José Teodoro, along with Scottish-Sierra Leonean author Aminatta Forna and Bosnian-American author Aleksandar (Sasha) Hemon.

- SUCK IT UP (Drama/Comedy, 2017) – Begins streaming Friday, November 1

- LA BOLDUC (Drama/Comedy, 2018) – Begins streaming Friday, November 15
In Montreal, at the beginning of the last century, a poor and uneducated mother manages to get her family out of its misery by becoming a folk singer of thundering success. In the wake of the economic crisis of the ‘20-30s and the first glimpses of the fight for women’s rights, this biographical movie follows the real life of Mary Travers Bolduc (Debbie Lynch-White, Unité 9): her roaring career, difficult marriage, and the touching relationship she had with her eldest daughter, Denise, who played the piano on her mother’s albums and dreamed of becoming a Hollywood actress.
- ENEMY (Thriller, 2015) – Begins streaming Friday, November 22
ENEMY tells the story of university lecturer Adam Bell (Jake Gyllenhaal, Nightcrawler, Brokeback Mountain) who is nearing the end of a relationship with his girlfriend Mary (Mélanie Laurent, Beginners, Inglourious Basterds). One night, while watching a film, Adam spots a minor actor who looks just like him.
