CraveTVTM announced today it will expand its exclusive HBO Collection, as more than 180 documentaries begin streaming inside the newly launched HBO Documentary Films strand, beginning Friday, Aug. 21, as part of #iCraveFridays. The prestigious slate of HBO Documentary Films is the latest addition to join CraveTV’s HBO Collection, following the launch of HBO Films and HBO Stand-Up earlier this summer. Along with award-winning scripted programs (such as THE SOPRANOS, THE WIRE, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM, and ENTOURAGE), the rapidly growing HBO Collection is one of the most popular on CraveTV.
As part of today’s announcement, CraveTV also confirms the acclaimed HBO documentary GOING CLEAR: SCIENTOLOGY AND THE PRISON OF BELIEF (premiering onHBO Canada Sunday, Sept. 6 at 9 p.m. ET) will join CraveTV’s HBO Documentary Films collection following its run on HBO Canada. Based on the book by Pulitzer Prize winner Lawrence Wright and directed by Academy Award® winner Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side) the film profiles eight former members of the Church of Scientology, whose most prominent followers include A-list Hollywood celebrities, detailing their experiences and what they were willing to do in the name of religion.

Other titles that begin streaming this Friday include two Spike Lee films. The Emmy® Award- and Peabody Award-winning WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE: A REQUIEM IN FOUR ACTS offers devastating first-hand accounts of the scene in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina hit. The Academy® Award-nominated 4 LITTLE GIRLS tells the story of four African-American girls who were murdered when a Birmingham, Ala. church was bombed in 1963.
New titles also include WISHFUL DRINKING, Carrie Fisher’s one-woman show that covers everything from her Star Wars experiences to her addictions and famous family;WITNESS, a four-part series from Michael Mann (HEAT, MIAMI VICE) that follows four different war photographers at work in warzones; and PARADISE LOST 1: THE CHILD MURDERS AT ROBIN HOOD HILLS, PARADISE 2: REVELATIONS, and (Academy Award- and Emmy Award-nominated) PARADISE LOST 3: PURGATORY, which focuses on the West Memphis Three, three teenagers who were accused of killing three boys.
The collection also includes Emmy Award winner GHOSTS OF ABU GHRAIB, which delves into torture at the Iraq prison; HIS WAY, which tells the story of legendary producer Jerry Weintraub; IN VOGUE: THE EDITOR’S EYE, a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic fashion magazine, Vogue; MANHUNT, which showcases the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, and SEDUCED AND ABANDONED, which follows Alec Baldwin and director James Toback as they try to get a film financed at the Cannes Film Festival, and includes interviews with Ryan Gosling, Martin Scorsese, and more.
